from the review. i don't remember the Mono mix on the Scream box sounding tinny or thin sounding
This is a very accurate statement of the "filtered" mono track. The dialogue really has the thin and blanketed sound, especially when the male actors are talking. It sounds like they spoke through tin cans.

Sure enough, only my Halloween 4 and 5 pre-orders with the poster have been shipped from Shout! Factory themselves. Well see what happens to the rest throughout this week.

If it's not too much trouble, can you capture screenshots around the 10:24 and 10:54 timestamps?

Thanks!

Lol I mean, that’s the fun part of the tv version. It looks like a high quality rip of the broadcasted version. I was expecting some cleaned up thing that I will never watch, and instead it’s a neat little thing that I might pop in once in a while.

Reviewers shouldn't be able to review a titles unless they have the equipment to assess all the audio tracks. I'm really anxious to hear how the Atmos track sounds, but the reviewer supposedly can only playback 7.1.

It would be like someone reviewing a 4K DV title and saying "it looked great on my 1080p SDR TV."

The compression in those screenshots is honestly quite ghastly… can anyone actually confirm if viewing in Dolby Vision completely fixes this?

My first viewing of this disk was in Dolby vision. I think I’m going to test out the hdr10 and see if I see any of this famous compression you guys are talking about.

As you can see the DV layer is FEL and about 12Mbps average (14% of the total video bitrate). That’d explain why the HDR10 layer doesn’t look as good. I wish they’d check the resulting HDR10 layer instead of just checking it in DV and calling it a day. Studio Canal, and others, have done the same mistake in the past. The compression should look good in both DV and HDR10. In this case the HDR10 layer isn’t a total disaster imo but it definitely doesn’t look as good as it does in DV either.

I'm sure this has been addressed, but does anyone know why Scream Factory are using these eco cases that are not only rather flimsy, but also have wrinkly wrap around plastic? Aren't these supposed to be for collectors for the most part?

My Halloween 3-5 cases are in sad shape.

I forced my player to output hdr10 and it does look pretty sh*tty in certain spots, dv fixes a lot of it to my eyes... overall I thought it looked pretty good, I still need to pop in the lionsgate disc just for the heck of it and see which one I prefer the most

Hi William,

As promised, here is an update on your Halloween order. As we monitor the shipping process, we will continue to send regular updates.

When we were first planning for these releases, we had hoped that supply chain pressures would ease up by the late summer of this year. Reality has been somewhat less forgiving, and we’ve been experiencing issues shipping from China, the European Union, and Mexico to get all of the parts together for these collectible offers.

As of today, the posters for these releases have been printed, the enamel pins and all of the 4K UHDs have arrived, and we have most of the 7” vinyl items in our warehouse. The two pieces we are still waiting on are all of the 7” vinyl for the original Halloween and 1,500 units of the black vinyl slipcase for Halloween II. This delay has kept us from being able to ship the most popular of the Halloween offers, and for that we do apologize. We expect 80% of all Halloween orders to ship by the end of this week, and if your order is among those that will not be shipped this week, we will send you an additional update by Friday.

The outstanding 7” vinyl for the original Halloween has cleared customs and we are waiting for clearance to pick it up. Once we get clearance, our warehouse has a truck ready to drive to the terminal, pick up the goods, and bring them back so we can start shipping orders with this vinyl immediately. We are still waiting for more information from the manufacturer about the outstanding vinyl slipcases for Halloween II and will update you as soon as we know more.

Orders for ONLY the 4K UHD and poster have now begun to ship. You will begin to see confirmation emails with USPS tracking information for these orders as soon as today, and we expect them to be fully shipped before the end of this week. If you’ve ordered either of the deluxe bundles containing all five Halloween films, please note that these will be shipped via UPS with a 2-6 day delivery window in the United States.

The good news is that everything has turned out even better than we expected when it comes to the pins, the vinyl, and the embossed slipcases featuring our newly commissioned artwork. We’re also delighted by the picture quality of our new 4K transfers for all five of the films, and we hope you’ll enjoy them as well.

Lastly, some customers have noted that certain Best Buy locations had Halloween out on store shelves as early as last week. We believe that the revised street date of October 5th was not properly communicated to every location and for that we are sorry. If you have or would like to purchase the product at Best Buy rather than through our site, please reach out to our customer service department and they will do their best to assist you in cancelling your order.

Again, we apologize for the delay and are working tirelessly to get you your order!

Regards,
Shout! Factory
The 4k slipcases are Embossed? I Didn't know that!
