Glad to see Spikes is going to miss the full game. I respect him for making the decision that he was going to be a distraction and choosing to sit out the game. I would have been curious how Urban would have handled this if they were playing a good team though. My guess is no punishment.

Same thing happened in 2008. Stafford got hit, hard, and a UF player extended his hand to help Stafford up, as soon as Stafford put his hand up, the UF player walked away. There are some good pictures of it floating around the internet.

Urban Meyer got fined $30,000 for publicly criticizing officials in the Georgia game. Meyer said Georgia should have been flagged for a late hit on Tebow, which was true. The SEC has told coaches they can't criticize refs and risk fines or suspension if they do. SEC officiating has been horrible this year but rather than fix the problem they are trying to get coaches to not mention it. I'm hoping to see a bad call go against Tennessee. Kiffin has been very public with his criticism and I could see him going off on officials and getting suspended.

Yeah I'm not saying it doesn't happen both ways (that ones actually worse), I just think he got way to into it and did something he shouldn't have. We'll see what happens from now till the combine if something like this comes up again... I think we'd have a track record.

It's an ugly fight, no doubt about it. The fans hate each other, the players hate each other, etc. You just wish they could man up and play some football (and, clearly, for 17 of the last 20 years, Florida has played way more football than UGA in Jax ).

Go Canes! We whacked Virginia pretty good today. The offense was clicking on all cylinders. I hope Gtech loses today, as we need to get to that ACC title game.

Even though Virginia is having a down year, we looked good on both sides of the ball. Since I don't see Georgia Tech losing anymore games this season, I'm really licking my chops for what we may be able to do next season. With the talent we are bringing into Miami, the sky is the limit.

I guess Iowa's luck finally ran out, I don't think too many people are very surprised about that one. If you come from behind every game, you're going to drop a few along the way. And when your starting quarterback is standing on the sidelines you can't afford to play from behind, period.

Plus their quarterback may be done for the season, so they may not even win any games after this week. BTW, I think WF today or Duke next week could still upset Gtech. I'm definitely crossing my fingers that it happens.

Damn it! WF almost had Gtech. I can't believe Gtech pulled out the win in OT. That just blows. There goes our best chance at making it to the ACC title game. Oh well, I guess better luck next year.

So let me get this straight, Penn State has only played two good teams all year long? And they lose both? I'm just saying.

Ricky Stanzi is done for the remainder of the regular season. I watched the whole game yesterday and I can't imagine James Vandenberg going into Columbus for his first ever start and coming out with a win. Granted he didn't expect to play yesterday and will have a whole week to prepare but he was horrible yesterday.

Am I the only one completely confused by the BCS rankings? LSU was #9 last week, played Alabama and lost. Now they are #8??

The BCS is a horrible method to get a national champion. I'm hopeful that after the current contract expires we will have a legitimate shot at getting a playoff system, but at this point all I have is hope. The sport can't go on much longer with the BCS in place. I'm amazed at how smoothly the FCS playoff system works, that's what we need in big time college football.

LSU is starting to remind me of USC. They could lose 2-3 games throughout the year to both ranked and unranked opponents and still wind up a top 10, top 12 team. It's a scheme. This BCS system seems to work backwards.

In all honestly, Iowa as been playing with fire for weeks now. I'm amazed how they remained unbeaten through 8 weeks having to come from behind to win so many of those games. They've shown great resolve in this period. Unfortunately, you guys don't have a system like Cincinnati, where the coach could plug in any QB's and still win consistently. Then again, not many schools can do that.

It doesn't matter what LSU is ranked in the BCS. The SEC can only send 2 teams to BCS games and that will be Alabama and Florida. LSU will be in the Capital One Bowl against Penn State or Iowa.
