Nearly every article states when used in that way, it is indeed an insult.

You are in the minority. The majority of folks think he's a great actor, which indeed puts him on the "level" of the quotes you mentioned. You are more than welcome to disagree, but you are in the minority. When it comes to actors/actresses who will be talked about and remembered for years to come, he fits the bill, even if you disagree.

Anyways, excited to see this tonight.
Again, you are attributing something to me which I never said. I provided the definition of the word even - by itself it is not negative at all. I would happily claim to be the fanboy of certain things or people. I don't see what's negative about it. Any negativity is in your perception which is extra-textual - it does not originate from anything in this thread.

And secondly, I was the first person to state that I am in the minority -

There's at least some though willing to buck convention and admit that they do not care for him.

The fanboys definitely win this one. He has infinitely many more fanboys than detractors.
So I don't know what the disagreement is

There's nothing wrong with not liking him or his performances.

There are several notable performers that I feel the same way about. I'm not even that big a fan of DiCaprio either (at least not the point of being called a "fanboy"), but I can objectively admit that he has a great deal of talent as an actor. I can also admit the same thing about the people I alluded to in the first sentence of this paragraph.

No, but I'd estimate the credits at the end are likely 5 or 6 minutes, at least. This is a film without opening credits, so all the credits are at the end. If you leave right when the credits start, you're likely looking at a 3 hr, 18-20 min movie.

This, of course, is not counting commercials and trailers and what-not before the film.

Getting seated a few minutes before, plus trailers and all, plus the film, you're likely looking at a nearly four hour sit.

Thank you. For such long film you don't need the biggest screen, but the most comfortable seat.

Do people ever make a big deal about the runtimes of all the superhero movies in their threads?

Those comic book movies really numb some audiences. 3 hours of a movie that doesn't bombard you with cgi dumb spectacle then it's going to take forever for them.

The longer the better, so the idiots that can't shut the **** up with little attention span will be at home watching The Invisible Super Oysterman Season 38 on Disney plus instead.

no, but those movies are actually entertaining and don't feature boring dialogue.

I never felt bored watching Oppenheimer even for a second.

I am truly amazed! All the talk is about the runtime. Nothing about the movie itself. IMO - the backlash from this subject matter will make Oppenheimer look like a Mickey Mouse cartoon.

As far as the runtime, Scorsese films thrive with longer runtimes, like Goodfellas, Casino, etc.

This movie looks good, but I just don't know if I'm going to have time to see it this weekend, so it's good it's getting a regular run in theaters. It will take a 5 hour chunk out of my day to see this film. 5 hours, that's like going to see a Football, basketball or baseball professional game at an arena, so it'll take some planning/timing like Avatar 2, due to other obligations.

1 hour travel: 30 minute drive 1 way x 2 = 1 hour
3 hours 20 minutes (8 minutes longer than Avatar 2)
20 minutes of previews
=
4 hours 40 minutes not counting traffic delays. That's not too bad but almost 5 hours.

You should've seen some of the reactions when the 93 min. runtime leaked for The Marvels.

Scorsese should fill the movie with juvenile jokes to appease the common theme park audience and bring some useless cameos so the audience could behave like hyperactive children when they recognize some well known actor on screen

If you are going to watch a 3 hour plus long movie without an intermission I suggest the large soda and popcorn for the cup and bucket.
