Yup. With all the running and jumping and shooting, and the villain in charge of a planet-destroying weapon plus the shift from the triumvirate of Kirk, Spock and McCoy to a love triangle between Kirk, Spock and Uhura, it's basically a Star Wars demo reel crossbred with Wrath of Khan (yes, even JJ's first Trek flick borrows liberally from Meyer's film, never mind Into Darkness).

I'm disappointed with Lucasfilm in regards to the news about Star Wars Episode VII. While I never expected Lucasfilm to reveal a lot about the film, you would think that we would have seen a description of the movie, sort of like what most movie studios release concerning a brief blurb about what the movie is going to be about.

I seem to recall Kathleen Kennedy making the comment that she was aware of JJ Abrams' need to not reveal anything and that she assured Star Wars fans that JJ's secrecy on movie production would not be an issue in regards to news about this new film. However, it seems that Kennedy has prostituted herself out to Abrams by not revealing anything about the movie.

Hell, you would think we would have seen a cast listing along with the characters the cast would be portraying but that hasn't even been released. There have been no updates other than the original OT cast returning in their roles from the original trilogy and the name of the film itself.

Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it.

This is actually a good thing. Maybe. It means that the film will be a surprise for once. When the trailer makes its inevitable debut next year I will see it without any preconceived expectations. That's a pretty rare thing today when so much info on a movie is leaked online that by the time the thing comes out you feel like you've already seen it.

Exactly, it's not like they need twenty different trailers and press releases about the film's plot to put butts in the seats, especially this far out.

Are you joking with me or being serious? I'm confused by the tongue thing. It's Star Wars. That title alone will put butts in seats. And I admit that I'm usually pretty bad about spoiling movies for myself before I've seen them.

I know it can be frustrating to be in the dark about Episode VII, but look at it this way: this time, these coming months will be the only time ever in your lives, where you you'll find yourselves in this state - of not knowing what awaits us in the sequel to Return Of The Jedi. Enjoy this special time for what it is, because we will all treasure and remember it a year from now.

..especially if it gets torn to shreds by complaining fans: "Luke wouldn't do that!!!!" etc. Maybe some folks will look upon it as a good thing that we didn't know anything about it at this point, whereas all other people want to do is constantly complain about everything ever (I don't mean you DK, but certain other posters). Once the teaser hits, all those details will be revealed. I'd imagine they won't want to give too much away in case they have to change things after principal photography. The original press releases or magazine articles for Blade Runner mentioned a high-speed chase through Los Angeles with Spinners and other flying vehicles!

Once we see on-set interviews and production diaries we'll know a bit more.

Well - if someone just... 2 years ago had suggested that not only would we get another Star Wars film, but it would also be a sequel to Jedi with all the original cast returning (including Harrison Ford) and Lawrence Kasdan helping out with the story - we would all have rolled our eyes and laughed our asses off. Not possible.

And yet it is happening. I'm just glad this film is being made in the first place. I can wait a year. No problem.

I wasn't hinting at releasing twenty different trailers or releasing any trailers at all. I happen to agree with everyone that trailers kill the surprise of the movie experience. But, what I'm referring to is basic information about the movie. Hell, they don't even release any kind of behind the scenes information about the film. The closest we ever came was a drone that accidentally took pics of the Millenium Falcon being built along with an X-Wing.

Hell, for that matter, they won't even release cast/character information about the film. J.J. along with his prostituting partner at Lucasfilm won't release any kind of information about the film. Just what the hell does Abrams and Kennedy think will happen? You can;t spoiler information about the movie by releasing the casting information and the characters they will be playing.

All Star Wars movies have been highly secretive while in production. You can get mad all you want, but they will just keep doing what they are and this movie will be a smash success.

Personally, I love not knowing. It makes the actual movie that much more surprising and interesting when I am watching it for the first time.
