In what world would a Sony Player be considered the Cheap player when compared to a Phillips?

I'm not doubting the validity of your comments but when it comes to quality control int he world of Home theater I'll take the Sony Product over the Phillips product 100 out of 100 times.

Almost all of those defects listed about ATOR are on display in the 2min clip. Shouldn't be that much of a surprise really.

It seems to me that DF has been making a real effort to turn things around. The store is now open 24/7, they are shipping orders faster than ever and they've been updating and responding politely. Yet the same usernames continue to come into the thread just trying to cause trouble.

I’m still waiting for my order to be shipped from Friday, so I wouldn’t say they’re shipping faster than ever. Mind you I’m not complaining about shipping, but it’s not as fast as it used to be.

The shipping is slightly behind due to the heavy volume of orders for Ator but we did purposely release over the weekend which allows us to catch up on the shipping faster.

The new HD master is definitely not perfect as it was made from the only existing 35mm print and not the original camera negative like the Mirror Mirror movies, Giant Spider, Chaos, Backlot Murders, Point Doom...etc. So there are some very minor lines, perhaps some very very minor wear. The color and contrast though seem to be quite good as does the detail and resolution. While it will never be able to be as good as Dead Pit and the other 35mm negative transfers it's the best we are able to have on this quite cool cult movie. The slip on the other hand is perfection like Ator himself.

My copy of ATOR is slated to arrive Friday.

Excited to give it a spin that evening. I've never seen this one but have had it recommended many times over the years (I'm a huge fan of this genre, love flicks like DEATHSTALKER and THE BARBARIANS).

Anything that isn't made, produced or starring DeFalco himself is pretty cool I'll seek out The Banker when it pops up since it's not a relatively recent film and kinda looks interesting but I'm not playing the 2:00 AM blink or you'll miss it games. I'm done with that nonsense.

Haha, you know what makes me feel old. When I see relatively recent for a movie made in 1989. My mind still sometimes goes, "Yeah that's not too old. Only like a few years, and then it hits that it is 20 years old. If this movie was human, it would be getting ready to buy it's first drink at a bar".

I actually wrote "it's not a modern film" before thinking it over and editing the post to avoid mocking. But, yeah, 1989 could be considered modern when compared to those old Universal monster movies from the 40's and 50's . Now, I do get confused when people use the term "post modern". When does the post-modern era begin? The year 2000? 2010?

Let me make you feel worse - it's 30 years old, not 20!

It's a cool movie. The same director as Party Line (VS released that one on Blu-ray) – and much in that same vein even with some of the same actors used.

I own the old Trinity Home Entertainment DVD, albeit the quality is a little crappy and could certainly be better.

I don't know if it's a title I'd spend $30 on right away for a Slipcover version, but I'd definitely grab a standard Blu-ray release.

I need more coffee. Forget the drink comment. That movie is starting to feel the crushing weight of the real world by now.

You know what I want, I want somebody to pick up this Robert Forster flick and release a fancy-smancy bluray.
