This was a very good movie, had excellent pacing and almost zero fluff. You definitely need to have seen pretty much all the previous Marvel movies or you'll be lost.

I saw it with my Father. He's seen the Avengers movies (and Civil War) but has missed probably 8 of the solo films. I asked what he thought of it and he said "It was good but I didn't really know who all of the characters were and I think I'm getting tired of comic book movies."

I recently chewed through all the MCU movies and I'd rank them like this. It is sort of hard to slot Infinity War in here because it really is only half a movie, so I'm going to assume the follow up is just as good as Infinity War. If it isn't, the Infinity War and the follow up will probably slot in below Civil War.

My List:

Avengers: Infinity War
The Avengers
Captain America: Civil War
Captain America: Winter Soldier
Iron Man 1
Thor Ragnarok
Ant-Man
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Guardians of the Galaxy 1
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Doctor Strange
Captain America: First Avenger
Thor
Black Panther
Spider-Man Homecoming
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Incredible Hulk

Spend the money to see this movie in IMAX 3D. Nearly the entire movie was shot with IMAX cameras and it is full screen the entire time. It also looks fantastic in 3D.
Definitely going AMC IMAX w/ Dolby Vision. Saw Black Panther there and was totally impressed with the presentation.

What I love most about Infinity War is it doesn't play like your generic paint by numbers Marvel movie. It's really an unconventional film that has no essential structure, really.

There's no beginning, middle, or end. Everything just happens and once it begins, the movie never stops. The only three act story is Thanos. He's the main character here. He's on this Quest.

We follow Thanos on this 150-minute journey as he pushes past the many obstacles he encounters in the form of The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. To accomplish his one goal.

The realization is, Infinity War is a film that plays much like a comic book. Nearly every shot works as an illustrated panel or massive splash page.

The best way to look at Avengers: Infinity War is viewing it as this large tapestry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe where several franchises come together.

Those are two different things, two different theater rooms. AMC has both an IMAX room and also a Dolby Cinema room. Be sure to see it in IMAX 3D. Check online ahead of time so you don't end up at a theater not screening it in IMAX 3D (some showtimes are only 2D) and while you're there order your tickets so you get a good seat (most AMC theaters are assigned seating now).

IMAX 3D is the best there is. Especially for a 3D movie shot with IMAX 3D cameras and shown in full screen on (only) IMAX screens.

Still a villain, or an "antogonist" at the very least. Just like Magneto.

I was kinda half joking to be honest. I thought they made Thanos a little too sympathetic in the MCU. He was still a good character, though. But hey, if he was a total ******* like he is in the comics, then everyone would have been dead. Then again, not only was he sympathetic, but his powers were also watered down as well. He would have easily been defeated if it wasn't for Star-Lord being stupid.

I don't mean to be critical, I actually really liked this movie. I just don't agree with this whole sympathetic "villains" make the best villains thing. It works for Doctor Doom (well in the comics anyway) and Magneto, but you can't just make every villain like them. Hell, some people I know even have a problem with making Doc Ock too sympathetic in Spider-Man 2.

Just ignore him. Cyberpunk is trying to find a way to justify that Thanos isn't that great of an MCU villain and thinks he was "overhyped" because Thanos isn't as powerful like he is in the comics

I FINALLY saw it yesterday.

NO SPOILERS FROM ME.

But I was no where as emotional as I have been reading in reports from people who saw this film over certain (losses). I actually read that some people were sobbing, sitting on the curbs, stunned and shocked after seeing the film. Someone even compared it to the aftermath of 9-11. I mean...SERIOUSLY?

When I saw the victim(s) fall, I was like "Wow, did they REALLY just do THAT?" But then, I remembered seeing Spock die in Star Trek 2, and Superman dying in Batman vs Superman, and they both came back in the next films. THEY ALWAYS COME BACK.

They really can't continue the Marvel universe without this victim(s). I just walked out thinking, "Hmmm, that kinda sucked. Can't wait to see the next one to see how they turn THIS around."

So, am I a bad person because I didn't fall apart from emotional distress like other people? I'm not requesting a 'Crying Room' to deal with my feelings over this. Good grief.

I had the same reaction. "WTH are people getting bent out of shape about?!"

Your not feeling something, does not dismiss others feeling something. If people are invested in these characters, it means that the creators did a good job.

Do those other people realize that these characters are coming back?

Ask them, you can do an exit poll.

Living in the moment is what makes these things fun.
Knowing a character is coming back does not ruin the moment for me. Just like knowing Jean was coming back did not invalidate that Dark Phoenix Saga is a great story line. Or Annihilation did not suddenly suck because Nova and Thanos came back. Or any other number of stories where a dead character returned. Good stories transcend that. Yet this is the internet and complaints are needed. Carry on I will just continue to enjoy what is presented.

You are comparing movies to comics, though. Also you can't blame people for not expressing any emotion to these characters when you know what is going to happen next. That's just silly. Especially considering that these characters haven't been around that long. It's not like Hugh Jackman's Wolverine where he has been around for 17 years, so the level of impact is simply not there with those other characters. Hell, Black Panther just came out a few months ago. I'm not even trying to be critical or anything. But come on, guys. They are not exactly going for the Oscars here.

Oh I don't know, you kept talking about how Marvel watered down their villains in previous movies to make Thanos look more powerful. Then questioned if Thanos is powerful without the Gauntlet.

Then what is the point of watching any movie? It has all been done before. We all know at the end the good guys win. Jason dies, he is back again. Michael dies he is back again. Freddy dies he is back again.

I've only seen the first Halloween, Halloween: Reservation and the two abominations made by Zombie but my question is... how does he keep coming back?
