I'm not one to complain about my experiences at BB and FS, but here it goes..
I go to Future Shop to have Star Trek Season 2 price matched with Best Buy ($85-$35). Of course, it's sold out online at Best Buy, which I'm well aware of, but it is in stock at both stores where I live, which I tell the FS rep of. He gets on the phone with Best Buy, and after about five minutes, he tells me that they have it in stock, but it's for $54.99. Of course, immediately I tell him to check the website, and he points to the DVD version first (I swear, what a tool), and then I show him the blu-ray version, which is $34.99. Then he gives me this BS about online and in-store having different prices, but they are supposed to be the same price. So, either BB is lying (they want my business) about the $54.99 or FS is lying about the conversation. Regardless, I'll be going back tomorrow to get a different rep and see what he says. |

If a $5 difference is life or death, you shouldn't be buying the item at all then.

Nick26, you did get ripped off. Future Shop should have honoured the price match. However, despite this, I would ask myself, is the $5 worth going all the way back over to the store tomorrow (as opposed to just going to Best Buy)? How much extra gas would that cost? How much is your own time worth?
If it were me, I would just buy the set at Best Buy (or not buy it all), and write an e-mail to Future Shop. Nothing at all may happen, but they also might send you a coupon or gift card. It's entirely possible that you'll go back tomorrow and get the exact same CSR. I hope you'll take this as a friendly suggestion and not criticism, because that's how it's intended. |
