Yeah I would just buy it at bb and get your points and move on. That is way too much of a discount. Maybe FS will price match sooner than later.

Awesome. I've never seen Star Trek, but for $30, I can't pass this up. Now I gotta find Season 1 for cheaper than $80.

I'm not one to complain about my experiences at BB and FS, but here it goes..

I go to Future Shop to have Star Trek Season 2 price matched with Best Buy ($85-$35). Of course, it's sold out online at Best Buy, which I'm well aware of, but it is in stock at both stores where I live, which I tell the FS rep of. He gets on the phone with Best Buy, and after about five minutes, he tells me that they have it in stock, but it's for $54.99. Of course, immediately I tell him to check the website, and he points to the DVD version first (I swear, what a tool), and then I show him the blu-ray version, which is $34.99. Then he gives me this BS about online and in-store having different prices, but they are supposed to be the same price.

So, either BB is lying (they want my business) about the $54.99 or FS is lying about the conversation. Regardless, I'll be going back tomorrow to get a different rep and see what he says.

Why not just goto bb and get it for 34?

Because I'm a poor student who wants to save money. And I wanted to get him to see the MSU Spartans game.

I'll go back to FS tomorrow, but if I get the same answer, then I will get it at BB.

Cool story. Here's another one:

$34.99-$29.99 = $5.00

Therefore, I'm saving: $5.00

If a $5 difference is life or death, you shouldn't be buying the item at all then.

$84.99-$29.99 = $55

Amazon has nothing to do with this. Thanks for coming out.

Where did I say it was life or death?

Tone. Going out of your way to save $5. You wrote and did it. I didn't guess.

On top of it he's incredibly rude when people are trying to give advice.

Lol, if it were life or death, I wouldn't have said I'd buy it for $34.99 at Best Buy.

Please point out where you gave me advice, and where exactly I asked for it.

Thanks.

You dodged my question.

Amazon has nothing to do with this conversation. It is a FS and BB thread.

I just tried to let you know Amazon's price so it would give you some perspective, for that I apologize for wasting my time and derailing the thread.

Good luck with that 5 dollar difference.
Your apology is accepted.

Nick26, you did get ripped off. Future Shop should have honoured the price match. However, despite this, I would ask myself, is the $5 worth going all the way back over to the store tomorrow (as opposed to just going to Best Buy)? How much extra gas would that cost? How much is your own time worth?

If it were me, I would just buy the set at Best Buy (or not buy it all), and write an e-mail to Future Shop. Nothing at all may happen, but they also might send you a coupon or gift card. It's entirely possible that you'll go back tomorrow and get the exact same CSR.

I hope you'll take this as a friendly suggestion and not criticism, because that's how it's intended.
