What's The Latest DVD You Bought/Watched Thread: U.S./Canada Edition

I've seen this now maybe three times over the past week and a half or so; rediscovered it, love it.
I saw a review on Amazon about how the widescreen cropping (OAR) affects the last scene in this in a negative way, and the videos on you tube of it (one with the 1.33 like this, but in HD) show it to be true, for me anyway. The image on this is a lot less dark also than the Blu-ray.
Any way I watch it, I love this movie.

A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. Only U.S. DVD release of this; got it for app. $9, taken from the Kazan DVD box.
Incredible, beautiful movie that needs a U.S. Blu-ray release. Also the DVD image is less "waxy" than the Masters Of Cinema Blu-ray.

It actually did get a US Blu-ray release but I believe it was only in one of two Kazan sets that may have only been sold through Fox’s own site. That’s long out of print, of course.

Oh that's right, the box set - yeah, it goes for hundreds now. I mean a release now, standalone one. Not limited either.
It's a classic, a masterpiece; deserves a release of its own.
