I just searched for it on Amazon.com and it didn't even come up. Didn't Amazon freak out and "ban" the sale of Grindhouse's edition of this along with "Cannibal Ferox"

I know they stopped selling "Ferox" as I had to get my copy of the 3-disk Grindhouse version of that earlier this week from Diabolik.

Speaking of Diabolik, they have the Grindhouse version of Cannibal Holocaust for $26.99 right now but only have three copies n stock.

That second link you posted is for the "Halloween" set bro.

As for Ferox, yeah I see it now in link #1 but it appears to be for just a new 2-disk set. A.K.A. The current Grindhouse set that's on Diabolik but minus the soundtrack CD. IIRC, I saw the same thing for Cannibal Holocaust too not too long ago.

Very good transfer, yet to watch the re-edit...

It's currently only a dollar cheaper on Amazon than when I bought it back in 2014. I paid $25.78

Yeah, I can't find anything saying he passed. I know I heard somewhere he was having some medical issues, but that was it.

He's been having medical problems for years. The Rialto Report had a fundraiser for him in 2014.

Do people still feel strongly about GR's release? I'm thinkimg about finally picking this up. I don't see even 5 years later another US label picking this up and doing a new scan. Though I wish more The Beyond would get the top notch treatment it, at the very least deserves

I just realized the Grindhouse BD is missing some of the extras from their 2-disk DVD release. In particular I am interested in the 'In the Jungle' documentary as it apparently has some behind-the-scenes material.

Unfortunately I sold my Grindhouse DVD off long ago, when I upgraded to the BD.

Does anyone know whether the documentary is available anywhere else or perhaps the behind-the-scenes material has been re-used in other extras? If not, is the documentary interesting enough to seek out?

I also own the Austrian 3-disc limited edition BD from XT.

For those who didn't grab this before now, this Grindhouse release is still available on blu ray, and is down to $24.99 on Amazon right now. I though it was OOP for some reason, as I saw that folks were gouging for it on ebay. It is easily the best the film has ever looked and sounded. A very worthy addition if you're a fan of this genre, and even if you have prior releases of the film.

I watched this back to back with my 2018 Code Red blu ray transfer of Slave of the Cannibal God, which is also a great transfer of another solid top-five film in the genre. It looks like Code Red is possibly releasing a limited run of that OOP title again, in a couple of months, with some different cover art. Same with Jungle Holocaust.
