This is a studio that did a poster for Goose the Cat/Flerken, of course it's real.

Your answer is as good as any I suppose but this was a hard show to wrap my mind around. They made a point to show the viewer the timeline splintering into thousands of branches (with beautiful special effects) and Loki arrives back at a very different TVA.

Needs another rewatch.

But I still think there's some storytelling problems and UniSol really nailed it with this post. An ALLIGATOR is not a variant, it would have to be an alternate timeline Loki, thereby making the "sacred timeline" concept make no sense.

Just a total geek orgasm with Kang though and I can't freaking wait to see what's next.

I wish JayTL wasn't banned.
The next three days are pretty busy for me, so forgive me if I do not respond to questions right away.

[Show spoiler]By following what he said, the character says that he and his variants were responsible for creating the multiverse. Their crossing timelines and sharing data started the branches. When they could no longer deal with each other war broke out. Yet since they have to exist at the end and beginning they are being reincarnated, or placed back in the time line. Starting it all over again. The character we follow was able to "contain" the others. Creating the TVA to deal with variants as he saw fit. It looks like his death "freed" the others. Causing a massive amounts of branches, that rewrote or pushed Loki to another branch.

So now we can go back and think that he was the reason those branches Sylvia created did not change or break anything, from our perspective.

Default Is Nothing Sacred?

Having thoroughly enjoyed Loki simply for the joy and quirkiness of the series independent of any exposition to the future of MCU, the finale brought the proceedings to an immensely satisfying conclusion on all fronts.

Six episodes struck just the right balance of series commitment and enjoyment, and mission accomplished as I'm now far more interested in Phase 4 and the Multiverse of Madness.

I care a lot about characters and one thing i didn't like about this show is Loki going from The Avengers Loki to this 'good' Loki in a few days, it makes no sense.

I wonder how normal people would react to seeing their mother, die because of our actions. Then watch ourselves die because of our actions. Then come to realize that everything we have done means nothing. That the things we thought were powerful are not, and that only thinking of ourselves dooms us.

That is a lot to deal with in a day. Or was it a day. Time moves differently in the TVA.

Exactly! I couldn't have put it better myself. Also, it seemed the first time Loki was entirely deprived of all of his powers. He must be feeling pretty vulnerable all this time...

Watching all these evens is different from actually living these experiences himself.

Even if he knows how things end doesn't mean he will go from evil murderer trying to erase humanity to sacrifice himself for everyone in matter of days.

Very good, not great, final episode. I was iffy on this portrayal of Kang but I think the next version will a much different take.

It is only days from our perspective. How long was he in that loop with Sif?

After a bit of digging through some comics.

[Show spoiler]MCU He who remains is a combination He Who Remains and Immortus, a version of Kang the Conqueror who wishes to prevent Kang's conquest.

Loki himself doesn't even know how long it's been since New York because time is different in the TVA, it could be at minimum a few weeks. If you have to ask how long it's been it's probably long enough.

I've finally watched the final episode.

So basically:

1- The Black Guy "cut" the Sacred Timeline (the MCU) out of the Multiverse (how? Seems impossible), so that other universes could not invade the MCU. Okay. Interdimensional travel to the MCU is not possible, so interdimensional counterparts cannot jump into the MCU. That's right.

2- Time Branches (see ENDGAME) and Alternate Universes are two different concepts. Totally.

STILL, why did the Black Guy steal people from Multiverse in order to create the TVA??? Couldn't he use normal humans from the MCU? That would be much more easy.

So puzzled.

Because the variants time line would have been eliminated. If his plan was to keep harmony why would he take people from "his" timeline?
