Default Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens

I meant the ultimate resolution of the story that he'd come up with three decades beforehand. Lucas ignored plenty of OT stuff when it came to making the prequels because it suited him to do so (he's so wilful he'd even disregard or retcon his own prior movies) but he'd never be able to fudge what happens to Vader, even if he was still A Concerned Parent at that point.

You just gotta love Leia's remark in ROTJ of remembering her real mother from when she was 'very young'. Cue ROTS depicting her real mother dying something like 2 minutes after Leia is born.

All these retcons hurt my head.

I haven't timed it but I think the amount of time between Padme giving birth and dying of a broken heart took about 30 seconds. She names them, tells Obi Wan that there is still good in Anakin and then kills over.

Their mother abandons them and their father is a mass murderer, Episode 7 should be about Luke and Leia both having a psychotic break and trying to wipe out the galaxy.

Which is one of many reasons why I try to pretend the prequels never happened. That one in particular was a major continuity error.

Yeah, that's one of those continuity things that make us go, "really?"

Some people have explained it as Leia remembering her through the Force, which I guess is as close to the best explanation we can get besides just overlooking it.

They are the ultimate dysfunctional family aren't they?
-Anakins dad is a deadbeat who ran off and isn't worth talking about.
-Anakins mom lets some strangers she hardly knows take her son away.
-Anakin assaults his wife who he supposedly loves more than anything.
-Luke and Leia's mom dies of the assault and emotional trauma and they're split up.
-Luke finds Leia, he's attracted to her and she keeps kissing him.
-Luke finds his father who's an evil overlord threatening him to either join him or die.
-Luke fights his father twice and they chop each others hands off.

Yep, these grandkids should be really screwed up.

If Disney decided to remake I, II and III, would anyone complain? Well besides Lucas?

I wouldn't complain - but I wouldn't be very impressed. I still find a lot to enjoy in those Lucas films (especially ROTS) despite clear "issues."

You forgot
- Anakin forgets about his mother who is in Slavery for 10 more years
And
- Anakin slaughters innocent children to please his new Master and the elusive promise of helping to save his wife

'Star Wars' teaser next weekend?

Quote:
For next weekend only (not sure if it's Fri/Sat/Sun or just Sat/Sun) a 90 second trailer for the new Star Wars will appear before every single showtime for every single movie at 100 theaters nationwide. I don't know exactly which theaters (except for one). Word has it Disney told all theaters getting the trailer that Big Hero 6 had to be the earliest showtime for each day (assuming that the fans will all buy a ticket to the earliest showing possible).
Could this be what Disney meant by "bigger plans"? Obviously take this with a giant grain of salt, but still, it's not impossible.

If they were really smart, they would have the trailer appear during the very last showtime of Big Hero 6, that way they can not only rake in money during Thanksgiving week and beyond, but extra money for the late night showings. That's like a $3+ difference per ticket as opposed to an early bird/matinee showing. I thought Disney be all about the $$$$

If you have midi-chlorines in your blood, the evil brain cells are erased quicker than non-jedis, which is why jedis dont need therapy. If you are a sith though, the evil brain cells erase all good thoughts. Anakin was just a special case whoch is why he always went back and forth. Luke and Leih have jedi blood only - they dont need therapy.

Makes sense. I suppose they assume more people will go in the morning than at 11PM, but then, who the hell goes to the movies at 9:30 in the morning?

When I try to avoid kiddies dominating my showtimes, I do.

Man, I cannot imagine going to the movies that early. I suppose there's a first time for everything

I would.

Despite being flawed, there is plenty to enjoy, in my opinion.

ROTS is my favourite with Empire second.

You forgetting Luke's grandfather/Anakin's father is the ultimate villain, and tells his son to kill his grandson, and vice versa.

I certainly would! The prequels are fantastic.

ROTS is many people's favourite SW film.
It's the magnum opus of space opera.
