It’s likely shorter for you, because you’re an old man , and I’m roughly half your age . Life is too short to be watching movies all the time, and regularly visiting sites like this, debating with people you don’t know. Almost a year ago, I greatly reduced how much I visit this site, and comment in the forums here, as well as how often I watch movies, and my life is now much better for it

Movies are a life long passion for most of us though. Movies to me are a overwhelmingly happy thing and as someone who doesn’t drink and do the whole pub/club thing, it’s my chance to take a huge time out from the stresses of life. It’s in my blood in other words. A balance is important also. Holidays with family, or indeed spending time with family and friends, other hobbies etc.. I could never cut myself off from my movies though and I would never want to.

Finally, your old man comment is completely uncessesary. Maybe it’s a good thing you don’t post much anymore. I hate comments like that (I’m only 43) but regardless of your age, we are all fragile and life can throw some curveballs. Having lost a couple of close friends at young ages (21 and 38) I realise young age is no guarantee of a long life.

My old man comment was just a light hearted kid, Steedeel. Hence the smile, razz and wink emoticons, which were intended to give it that context.

Don’t get me wrong, movies are still a passion of mine, but the difference between now and before, is that it was an unhealthy passion, whereas now I’ve created a healthy balance between movies, and other things in my life. For instance, by spending less time on this site and watching movies, it has allowed me to rediscover other hobbies that I used to enjoy, such as exercising and bodybuilding. The more time I would spend watching movies, and on this site, the less active I became (which negatively impacted multiple things in my life), and the more I would shut myself off from socialising in the real world. This also contributed to the relationship I had been in for 15 years ending. I lost 32 kilos in 4 months when I made the choice to make changes in my life, and greatly reduce how much I watch movies and visit this site. I’m healthier (physically and mentally), fitter and stronger now than I’ve ever been. Movies do bring happiness to me also, however, they also contributed to me being unhappy. And I see the same signs of this with some other people that regularly visit this site.

Some would say bodybuilding is a utter waste of time. Getting fit is fantastic, but bodybuilding? I feel life is too short for that!

And the streak died at 43 hours. My 31st outage this morning. Is there a reason why I would ever want to be dependent upon such an ISP for my entertainment?

I know it is not for the quality and it can't be for convenience, either.

Ping results this morning: 71 ms, jitter 56 ms, download 39.6 Mbps, and upload 10.2 Mbps.

Six minutes later the results were: ping 17 ms, jitter 4 ms, download 11.2 Mbps, and upload 10.5 Mbps.

I even had one result where the jitter came in at 3,523 ms last week. What an awesome ISP I have.

What's new here is how the download speeds have plummeted; they should be around 80 Mbps. That's my ISP: always finding new ways in which to fail.

I'd be better off tethering my pc to my mobile phone.

I know people say things as jokes, but deep down that's how they feel. I know when your young you think you can live forever, but even 100 years is just a flicker in time. I too have always enjoyed watching Movies, and many influenced my life. I use to go to the Cinema to watch the latest Movies, now I watch the latest on Video. I loved the Home Theater with the DVD Player and my 50" Mitsubishi HDTV. Just keep watching those Movies Digital or Disc!

You could easily post about anything that interests you more, but it seems all you really want to do is beech about my comments. If that is what floats your boat, then happy high tide to you. I will continue to keep you similarly entertained, on that you may count upon.

Yeah, there is no such thing as a joke. That saying is very true I think.

More. Digital is the future? They want us to buy mobile only subscriptions to short form content I understand? Gets more depressing by the week.

That’s a pretty big appointment though and a lot of backing. They want to change entertainment.

I ordered 20 more today. While I await their arrival, I already have a substantial library and every title in it happens to be something I like. I am certain I can easily wait 10 whole days until Tomb Raider is out on disc.

When it is released, I will be able to watch it from either 4K disc or even wondrous 3D, both of which will look, and sound, better than your streamed presentation. You do not even have the option to stream it in 3D.

You are welcome to stay dependent on your ever more expensive ISP to access content you do not even really own. I will continue to own my movies on disc. I will watch my discs with no concerns about internet performance, data caps, or digital content provider errors and I will enjoy these same discs in the highest available quality that they alone provide along with their unsurpassed reliability.
Well said. My biggest concern is not even my internet connection. How long until these movie studios start censoring movies we grew up with so as not to offend what ever group is the victim of the day? I think it is just a matter of time.....

Yep, that’s a concern I have raised many times in this thread and I always get pelters for it. Good luck.
