I was really excited about Death Rage and was really happy this was going to have the Italian audio. Most of the characters are playing Italians and most of the actors worded their words in Italian. It would be nice to have both options, but the one that mattered the most to me was the Italian audio. Really disappointed.

Yul Brynner and Martin Balsam were speaking English when this was shot and the English dub is fine.

Yeah, everyone else wasn’t. Plus Balsams character is an Italian chief. Would make sense for him to be speaking English. So for me, no the English dub is not fine.

Anyway, the Poliziottesco genre is so criminally (ha!) under-represented on bluray, it's a miracle to get any new titles to the format, no less English friendly ones. I will take whatever I can get. |

Just use the Italian version for video and offer two audio tracks.

Then why even state that they were going to include it within a month of release? If the Italian version was even in question, then don't jump the gun with that information. A very amateur and unprofessional move.

It's a weird situation as they are going to have about 13 minutes of Italian audio within the US audio. If I were them, I would postpone this release until they can get the Italian audio.

It's not weird when dealing with Italian licensors. They regularly lie and/or screw over US distributors especially with inferior/compromised audio tracks, Opera being the last example, and many examples of this in the past. It's a way to keep their euro licensees happy and coming back.

So that people have a reason to buy/import a euro release (that might even have worse picture quality, for instance, since euro studio might not have as much to spend on color correct/resto) instead of only buying/importing the US release and calling it a day.
