I called and hit 0 to be connected to an operator, and I told them that I preordered in store. I gave them the reciept number and the date, and they connected me to a digital downloads person. I got two different codes about an hour later via email... And before anyone asks, I already gave the second code to my roommate.

So, for best buy, where do you select the size of the t-shirt? Didn't see any options.

Had to do shipping as my local store seemed to be the one Best Buy in the area that didn't have all the items available for in-store pick-up (I'm guessing the shirt) Oh well it says it should arrive by release day so no big deal. Saves me a trip.

Well that was a mess.
Early yesterday I pre-ordered the 2D edition. I'd heard they were supposed to email you the codes, and wanted to get in on it. Ordered about 10:30am. 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours... no code. Came back here and read folks pre-ordering the 3D version were getting the code too, so I figured I'd cancel my pre-order and get the 3D version... that's when things went south. Cancelling my 2nd movie (so I got free shipping) and the T-shirt was easy, but Best Buy thought they'd already sent me the code, so they wouldn't let me cancel the movie or the code from the order. Called in, and a very nice lady couldn't cancel it, so she spoke to her supervisor, then sent me to the digital folks. The digital folks said they couldn't cancel it either, but they could email me the code. I explained I appreciated that, but at this point I wasn't going to get the t-shirt or free shipping. He didn't have an answer for that, and was going to transfer me, and that's when the call dropped. Went and got dinner, ate, then called back. Explained to the 3rd person what had happened, I was sorry about making things difficult, I had just hoped to get the 3D copy of the movie, and whatever they needed to do to "fix" it was fine. He created a 2nd order for me (not being able to "fix" things on the first one), so I'm getting free shipping, the t-shirt, and I'll get Tomorrowland next week (since I really want that too) for the same price as the original order. Since the 2D is on sale for $20, I can't complain too much, and having seen the movie in 3D in the theater, and remembering that there wasn't much significant 3D that "wow'd" me... I'll be alright. He then transferred me to the digital desk again. Guy at the digital desk was good. Explained what had happened, he indicated they'd DEFINATELY had problems with codes yesterday. He created a case, then sent me the code after I got off the call, and within an hour I had it. Entered to CinemaNow, Then looked up my Ultraviolet account, and finally my Vudu account (a process I've gotten used to so movies "show up" in Vudu), and there it was. Added it to my cell phone, and my PC (which shows I own the HDX version of Jurassic World and Avengers: Age Of Ultron), but one of the two movies would only download in HD on my computer, which was weird. Anyway... I've got my digital HD edition, and the disc is coming. But BOY was that a lot more work than I bargained for on a weeknight. ![]() |
