I don't think it's right at all that coaches like Kelly and Carroll have a big mess created under their watch, and they get to run away to the next job scott free. They just dump the whole mess into the next coach's lap.

Read the NCAA COI report regarding USC... Pete Carroll was found guilty of having an extra assistant coach (even though this "coach" never talked to any of the players -- Pete called him a special teams "consultant"). That's it. Everything else was placed firmly on RB coach Todd McNair as far as he "should have known" that Reggie Bush's family was living virtually rent-free in La Jolla, over 100 miles south of campus.

As such, I'm giving Pete Carroll a pass here.

Ya, I don;t think he did anything wrong either. But that being said I think Carroll skipped town on USC because he knew the fix was in. He knew the NCAA was about to come down hard on USC.

Notre Dame has extended it's football deal with NBC through 2025. A lot of people had believed that once the current deal expired in 2015 that Notre Dame would become a full ACC member, with special provisions that would ensure they earned more than the other league members, but that clearly isn't happening.

I'm fine with whatever they have to do to keep up the illusion that they are independent and not in the ACC We all know they are in the ACC for all intensive purposes.

Yep, they'll be lost without a school that has gone 6-18 in it's last 2 seasons and hasn't made the NCAA basketball tournament in 3 years, while replacing them with a lowly Louisville team that won the Big East and a BCS bowl game and the NCAA basketball tournament.

Considering I'm not much of an Iowa fan I wouldn't try to coerce you into liking Iowa. I have no problem with Iowa football and I'll always root for them, but I'm not really a fan and certainly wouldn't try and convince anyone else to root for them.

There is a good chance that the team I am a fan of, Northern Iowa, will be playing Maryland in basketball next year at the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands. If UNI beats Loyola Marymount and Maryland beats Marist (or if they would both lose) then UNI and Maryland would play in the next round. I went to the Paradise Jam when UNI played in it in 2009 but I probably won't go this year.
