I think your overestimating the gas price quite a bit there. At today's gas prices ($3.75) I could get 230 miles on $50 in a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Yeah, I realize my math error now and fixed my post.

$4+ for gas?? Try $5+ for gas in SoCal. It goes up almost everyday here. It's ridiculous.

Good to hear. I think that cover probably makes it look worse than it is.

So the guy spent over $40 in gas just to make the trip assuming 200 miles one was one way and not round trip ($80+). Then he bought hundreds of dollars worth of: a few good films, a few mediocre ones, and a few absolute duds. Being a family man with a fairly strict budget that just doesn't compute for me.

I'm waiting for a price drop. $10 or less and I'll bite since I want my children to see this one.

Yeah he should have drove further for them! My posts in this thread may or may not be fueled by oil money though *Cough*

Not at all. I would never in my right mind drive straight 200 miles just to buy movies. I also wouldn't spend all of my tax return on gas and movies either. I did however just buy an Onkyo TX-NR709 to replace my slowly dying SR606, but I still have a hot water heater to replace with the rest of my tax return.

Well I didn't spend the remaing on the movies just half and luckly I can afford to buy any movie I want doesn't have to be tax season but I understand your point of view not everyone has money to spend on what they like.

Thanks everyone for the great comments.

I enjoy movie and slip hunting No matter how high the gas goes LOL

There's a vast difference in reasonable and unreasonable. It has nothing do with disposable income.

USA No Pic but Decent Haul

I most recently purchased Drive, Thor, Ratatouille, Sleeping Beauty, Attack the Block, A Clockwork Orange, warrior, IP Man, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Game of Thrones S1, and The Godfather Trilogy (Coppola Restoration).

I had money to use.

Reasonable and Unreasonable are subjective depending on your income. Is it runreasonable for a millionaire to own 2-3 homes? No! Is it for someone making 40K a year? Yes!

Why would anyone care about how someone else spends their money?
