Thats funny, but I could honestly see it happening with any of the guys like Miles, Saban, exc. those guys have been so high and so lauded for so long they almost all at some point or another forget what failing is like. Still hilarious though.

It appears the Matthew Thomas saga will end with him going to Florida State. Thomas had originally signed with Florida State but then wanted out and said he only signed there because he felt pressured into it by his mom and she wouldn't sign a Letter Of Intent to USC. He requested a release from his LOI but Florida State was not willing to release him. Monday his dad said that Thomas was going to attend USC even if that meant having to sit out the season and losing a year of eligibility, but last night Thomas told Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher that he would honor his commitment and may join the team this weekend.

Oregon got hit with their penalties for the Willie Lyles recruiting scandal and they got off very easy:

The NCAA will hold a teleconference later this morning to explain its' report from an investigation into the school's use of football recruiting services under former coach Chip Kelly, who left UO in January to become the Philadelphia Eagles head coach. As part of the sanctions, Kelly has been hit with an 18-month show-cause penalty.

The Ducks will also lose one scholarship over each of the next two seasons.

I'm not a USC fan, but I don't understand how they can get hit with such a hard penalty for a player's family allegedly taking money and an assistant coach supposedly knowing while Oregon gets off easy when they essentially paid Lyles $25,000 to convince Lache Seastrunk to sign with the school.

That only shows you the NCAA is a joke, no rhyme or reason on how they handle cases. I don't remember them going after Pete Carroll?

The NCAA recently enacted a new enforcement program in which coaches are more responsible for violations happening under their watch, which is why Kelly got a (meaningless unless he tries to return to college) show cause penalty while Carroll wasn't punished.

Carroll wasn't punished, because the only thing that Paul Dee could pin on him was hiring an extra special teams "consultant" (the NCAA called him a "coach," despite him not attending any practices nor talking to any of the players). THAT WAS IT.

Pete came away unscathed, because he deserved to come away from the whole ordeal unscathed. It was RB coach Todd McNair who got the show cause ruling and is currently suing the NCAA for defamation of character (and will win, IMO).
