[Show spoiler]her entire purpose in approaching Oskar was to find the next Hakan (old dude) to look after her? As we see in the film, Hakan is getting too old for the job and is messing up. He's lost his edge. She needs a new recruit. 60 years ago, she probably recruited Hakan the same way she is now recruiting Oskar. Oskar was specifically targeted because he was a loner, so could drop everything to leave with her, plus he was being bullied so she could get trust with him by showing him how to beat them up --> he is very vulnerable. From that standpoint, the movie is primarily a kind of study of a 101 on Vampire Survival: step 1: find and train a fresh "blood fetch" recruit when your old one starts to suck. Its a love story secondary to that. Hakan and Oskar may be her 49th and 50th "blood-fetch" guys she has recruited in her 500 years or however long she's been a vampire
Yeah me and my boy both caught on to that! Very good catch though. My exact words were, "She's been doin this cycle forever" The ending really seals the deal when she thanks him for saving her life.

Wow simply amazing, at first i thought it was gonna be a horror, scary film but it actually turned into a drama/horror. I thought that the story was amazing and original beyond originality lol.

A Young man faces the difficulties of being bullied in school and standing up for himself. Not only does he have this problem to deal with but he also has a broken family, living with his mother he's faced with many childhood problems by himself. But next door to him is a girl that he shows a special interest to.....

Like i said before i thought the movie was amazing and really worth watching. Keep in mind its more of a dark drama, but worth every penny. Im looking forward to LET ME IN.

Note: The English Voice Over's are Horrible please watch the movie in its regular Swedish language.

Highly Recommended.

4.5/5

Glad you liked it this has been on my list for a while to watch. A great horror film

I was indifferent about the film, 3 stars (out of 4) for me. Very overhyped imo. As for the voice-over, NO foreign film should EVER be watched dubbed!

The Stepfather

I like this movie a lot. Wish the sequel was on blu-ray but since the third doesn't have Locke I'd probably pass on that. Horror movies where the villain has a lot of depth or an interesting personality are great.

Gladiator (blu)

PQ: 5 (out of 5)

AQ: 5 (out of 5)

Film: 3 1/2 (out of 4)

Somehow this was the first time I've seen the whole film from start to finish. There's no doubt it's a very exciting film that is well-constructed and well-acted. This is nowhere near Crowe's finest work, however, and I think his Oscar win is a bit weak. He was far better in the Insider (can we get this on blu please) and A Beautiful Mind, among others. Sir Ridley Scott never fails to amaze me in how well he constructs his films, but I think here he had issues with pacing. Overall, this is a very solid film.

Many people compare this film to other historical epics of the past 15 years, so I'll do so too: Braveheart is far better on every single level and I have no idea how someone can think Gladiator is better. The Last Samurai is a better film. Gladiator is far better than Troy.

I agree with Braveheart being better. The Last Samurai or Gladiator is hard, they are both great films. I have acutally never thought of comparing the two, that is something I need to think about someday....

I also believe I saw a spoiler for Let The Right One In.....please use spoiler tags. I think may have the movie just ruined for me.

How am I supposed to feel suspense when I know exactly where a movie is going from the very beginning and can tell you what is about to happen at every point in the movie almost?

Answer: I can't.

It reminded me of Disturbia with Shia Lebouf....but not as good.

The review for the original with Terry O'Quinn from Lost got a 4. Too bad my cousin didn't have that one instead.

Rating - 1/5
I thought it was still a cool film but inferior to the original of course. Terry was the perfect man for the role while Dylan was decent , he didnt bring the intensity or creepiness Terry brought to the original. I still thought it was a decent remake though. U have to see the original though. Got Em!!

Yep Locke is a beast! Part 3 from what I remember was still pretty good even though Terry wasnt in it. Got Em!!

Armored - I am a big fan of Columbus Short so I have been waiting to see this. Heard so-so reviews about the film so I wasnt to stoked. It turn out to be pretty good after all and I love how Columbus is growing as an actor. Very good cast and very intense for an action/crime film. I definitely recommend atleast a rental as it is very enjoyable.

Film Rating - 3 1/2 stars (out of 5)

PQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

AQ - 5 stars (out of 5)

Got Em!!

I'll listen to practicaly anything; not so much country or folk, and I usually do favor rock and metal the most, but everything between Carl Orff and Cradle of Filth is all good. My collection only has a couple of Prince songs, but there were a couple in the movie that I'd probably want to get.

I'm sure if I grew up watching the film, I'd like it better, just like my other favorites. As it is though, it's alright, and I am still glad to have seen it at least once.

The Whole Nine Yards

Pretty fun movie overall. Nothing too special, but a fun movie to watch every now and then I suppose. Not the biggest fan of Matthew Perry but it wasn't unbearable to watch.

Yeah its really different but good! I'd say its more of a drama with a vampire included though. No real horror.

Yep once i watch it again i note if i catch something else that proves our theory correct.
But the way they meet sells it enough honestly.

This is my favorite film by far!! I liked Braveheart and i liked Troy but GLADIATOR is unmatched IMO. The experience is way better, the entertainment was way better. Hell Hans Zimmer Score alone makes it better. With me thinking straight i can say that Bravehearts story is a bit better but when it comes to overall experience Gladiator will always have my heart

No but seriously i loved Gladiator way more than Braveheart.

Fargo (2nd Viewing)

After the bashing from Surf and Squid i had to check my reasoning for my initial score for this dumb ass movie. I'd have to say its fun, dont wanna admit it but after seeing it as a dark comedy i couldnt stop my self from laughing at these idiots. And i mean ALL OF THEM are IDIOTS! I think i could right an entire blog about the stupidity that happens in this movie.

My favorite part by far is when
[Show spoiler]the kidnapping part. WTF.
William H. Macy was born for this role he's a complete idiot. Most comedy movies are direct hit you in the face but after seeing Fargo i wanna see more dark comedies to see how it compares.

I also got rid of this movie but its not going anywhere now!
I feel stupid for not catching the type of movie from the get go but o well

300: The Ultimate Experience (6th Viewing i think )

Director: Zack Snyder
Writer: Zack Snyder, Frank Miller
Mains: Gerald Butler, Lena Headey, Domnic West

Frank Miller's Graphic Novel Brought to Life with a Green Screen.

I seriously dont see how any man wouldn't like the entertainment brought to you with 300. Its simply one of the Best Popcorn flicks ever! Ive heard people go back and fourth about this movie's accuracy. ITS HIS GRAPHIC NOVEL not the actual event. I thought the movie was insanely entertaining and this edition is definitely worth the purchase. But then again i love Frank Miller and Zack. In addition the Narration is unmatched!

About the PQ being grainy, its suppose to look like that. Anyone they reads a little would know that the movie was all CGI, so if the directer wanted he could make it look crystal clear but it isnt suppose to. The battle happened when????? Exactly grain is needed.

Overall great experience and lots of fun. This movie is worth the viewing and IMO its a MUST OWN!

Sorry but that wont ruin it. Its just something extra to think about. This isnt a Psycho thriller with a M Night Twist ok........ If you like this movie it will be because of the overall direction and cinematography.
