yea we had a lot of great work being accomplished on this thread at one time or another. This thread is lucky to still have you.

About restricting access though, I'm not sure that such a thing could be done. We'd have to ask the OP Trean. I think that it would be great if access, or rather authorization to post, could be restricted to only contributors, which is the way that a lot of the cover sites I'm a member of handle things. The majority of them have it to where you could pay a premium or contribute stocks, logos, covers, or w/e in exchange for the ability to download or comment.

I hope it will all change soon because I like designing BD accessories a heck of a lot more. You have more to work with.
I know and I pay monthly for 6 sites...and I am happy to do so. I contribute with artwork on some and scans on some. Im no photoshop artists but its dishearting paying 100 dollars a year for access and credits and there are no covers to download anymore fo us blu converts

there are so many awesome SD covers out there that it would be sweet just to have them converted over to BD. Its sad cause I was so proud to display all those wonderful covers the artists did...but they are sadly going away with only floating "blue" heads as replacements.

Yea I know. I'm surprised that you've contributed to those sites and haven't received a free membership yet. What are the names of those sites?

Back to the issue at hand. Blu-ray.com would never ask for paid memberships on this site, and I've requested that they make a special section for custom covers before and they told me to contact the OP of this thread. It doesn't really make a whole lot of since to contact the OP since he only has jurisdiction over this thread. When I contacted them they told me that if I knew anything about site development then they'd give me special permission to program it myself. I don't know enough programming yet to do so, but for the betterment of this thread I may have to learn some more so that I can do this, if I still have the permission from the admin.

It would be like creating a whole new tab on the home bar, next to 'community' which says 'custom covers'. Then the page would tell you that only contributors are allowed access to download and comment. It would give newcomers the option to upload their designed covers to a special section where mods would look at them and decide whether or not they are original designs and not stolen. After they are approved then they can be loaded to the completed section in alphabetical order where other contributors can download them or comment on them. I don't think that resources like stocks and logos would be authorized since this is a copyrighted site, so the only option would be to upload your own covers. In other words, this would no longer be a thread, instead it would be a section of the actual site.

It's also run off a couple of the best artists in this thread like dv8 and bpmford, a couple of guys I would consider colleagues because of the great communication we used this once great thread for.

Then you guys came in with your "requests" and started chopping everything to bits. No offense, but I'm going to say something that others I'm sure have been afraid to come on here and say: We don't do your ridiculous requests like 'Sorority Row', which we have no interest in. We also have no interest in using our valuable time on a program which we learned all on our own time in order to serve you and create what you want. We're not running a business here where you have the right to make a request and have us fulfill it down to the T. Like mikey said, this is a hobby for us which we do on our own time and in our own way.

I would recommend for the future: When you have a request simply state it once, b/c these guys (including me) still check this thread everyday, no matter if they're no longer wanting to reply, and if there is no reply that your request wil be attempted, then leave it alone.
Well I'm sorry if I came off as rude it was a request I would have liked, and I just replied to his/her comment and found it rude as well. I mean he/she could of found a better way to say "garbage"

Most of the artists that contribute to this thread and other graphic design sites use very expensive and complicated Adobe programs like Photoshop and Illustrator for their work. It's not as simple as using free programs like paint, although hypothetically I think it's possible and you'd have a hell of a hard time.

I'm not trying to single anybody out. It's just about every non-contributor on this thread! Contributing on this thread doesn't necessarily have to be artistic. People can contribute with positive and encouraging comments which artists/designers love rather than the conceited demands and rude comments about their own preferences and tastes.

To put my words together: I believe that the artists should definitely have precedence over anybody else in this thread. The only thing they care about, and should care about, are nice positive comments instead of, "well I like it but....", or "do you think you could move that over here and cut that out", "Will somebody please make me a cover with these exact images in them?!" x 100.

If you have an idea or something, create it yourself, and if they ask for constructive criticism then you're allowed to give it, other wise shut the h&Ll up!

I promise you Kor-ray! I'm not singling you out. Flip through the pages of this thread and you'll see greatness for the first 20-25 pages, and then the flood of nonsense starts. I'm not saying anymore about this topic. As far as I'm concerned the great ones that once graced this thread with their work are gone. Poetic, I know, but so true!

Got my 5 disc (well, 6 disc too, for another project) cases from Vernon Library supply and printed the custom BSG covers. Sorry for the crappy camera phone pics:

I went with 5 disc cases for all of them, for consistency, even though Season 1 will only have four discs in it.

I would rather not say I can PM them to you if you like but some sites are by invite only (as Im sure you know) so I dont want to list them here. I guess you are right though about many cover artist still have not coverted over to Blu Ray. At least 3, 4, 5, 6 disc cases are now available to us so maybe that will help open the gates more.

Here's another project, this one I actually can take credit for designing. I wanted cases for my National Geographic blu-rays, that emulated the magazine cases sold by Nat Geo (each holds six issues, my cases hold six discs, and are available from Vernon Library Supply)

I have 8 National Geographic blus right now, so this is future proofed a bit. Here is what it is a nod to:
