Wouldn't be surprised if FANATIC shows up with the alt. Die, Die, My Darling title.

The only ones I recall pre cuts surviving are Curse of the Werewolf which we must be thankful for because the BBFC version is a real mess.
And ignoring the Japanese footage I think the current version of Dracula includes one or two shots that were removed at the time.
I think!!

Actually there's a lot more than that now uncut.

Most of the Universal ones, for example -- except Paranoiac.

For some reason the Americans ended up with the BBFC cut print (and we're probably stuck with it for posterity).

Universal Studios lost the master print of Curse of the werewolf in the universal studios fire along with some other master prints of other films

The original Hammer horror series dvd release from 2005 which was before the fire was 2 dvd18 discs had the correct aspect ratio and was from the original master print

Curse of the werewolf on the DVD release of hammer horror series in 2014 on 4 dvd discs and later Blu-ray release in USA and in UK was from different print with wrong aspect ratio due to the original been destroyed in the fire

The German Blu-ray release has correct aspect ratio though as they somehow had a copy of the master print with correct aspect ratio

The best version and correct version of Curse of the werewolf is on the original Hammer Horror Series DVD released in 2005 and the German Blu-ray release

This is putting two and two together and getting five. A lot of irreplaceable stuff was lost in that fire it is true, including unique US TV material for some Hammer films, but the film negatives weren't stored there. It was some of the previous DVDs masters that were lost.* Universal can do new scans whenever they like. Also, the scans they made weren't hard matted - hence the German releases being able to use the full height on Brides and Curse as they are identical transfers otherwise (heavy grain and warm grade on Brides for example). Universal are merely forcing the 2.00:1 masters on labels who should but don't know any better.

*There doesn't seem to have been any desire to locate them either. A classic Hammer related case is X the Unknown - the remastered standard def Digibeta master was lost in a similar fire in the UK so when it was reissued on DVD from a godawful print on NTSC converted videotape, Hammer used the excuse the master was lost. Probably yes, that DVD master was lost but they made zero effort to replace it. They could have done a new film scan or even easier just got a copy back from the BBC or Australia, both of whom still hold copies of the restored SD transfer as it has since appeared on TV and on the Quatermass Xperiment BD respectively. This is why flimsy excuses from labels about lost masters friggin' annoy me these days. It's either ineptitude, laziness or if the worst case scenario is true they need to be bloody well finding the next best quality replacement material and preserve it before it's lost, not slapping some ropey old print or videotape transfer out and saying that's yer lot.

Sorry, none of my frustration is aimed at you, you're as much of a victim of the misinformation as anyone else.

There's much more coming from Studio Canal's Hammer titles this Fall:

23rd October 2017
Blood From The Mummy’s Tomb
Demons Of The Mind
Fear In The Night
Scars of Dracula

13th November 2017
Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde
Straight On Till Morning
To The Devil A Daughter
Horror Of Frankenstein

Most of the titles will have extra features such as commentaries.

I hope Studio Canal learn from their mistakes.
Some of these are average Hammer at best and they need to be priced accordingly.
If they take the usual route of being £17.99 I think most will buy a couple and wait for reductions to get the rest but price them all around £12.99 or even let them appear in the HMV 2 for £25 deal and I think we'd sweep the lot up.
They've missed a trick by not offering a boxset alternative

If they're all like The Witches I'll be ecstatic. Hopefully they won't let the same people at hammer responsible for the CGI nonsense etc be involved this time.

In no particular order:

Lust for a Vampire
The Viking Queen
She
Prehistoric Women
The Vengeance of She
The Lost Continent
The Brigand of Kandahar
The Anniversary
The Scarlet Blade
A Challenge for Robin Hood
The Buses trilogy (OK, not fussed about those...)
Probably a few more 70s comedy titles too.

Makes sense to save some of the biggest horror titles left to release alongside stuff like Prehistoric Women (which to be honest, is rather fun). I hope they don't ignore the historicals and superb comedies like The Anniversary, the latter is one of my favourite Hammer non-horrors. Bette Davis in that role is as horrific as any of their monster pictures!

Of the lesser known and/or desired, Network have already licensed Love Thy Neighbour, so they may be able to release those that SC don't want to do themselves. Network released Man at the Top DVD-only and I doubt they'll revisit it.

Then they can do their Amicus titles.

From the Oddbox list I'd have, She, I love this one & saw it when it was first released (aged 14) if a decent Blu-ray is coming at all it'll be from Warner, & The Lost Continent, that's a lot of fun, with a lot of dodgy creatures from the man who went on to make the shark in Jaws.
