As a purist, I am happy to see that it will include the original audio track. Only wish it was offered in lossless. I believe Cinderella is the only Disney film that includes the original audio as a lossless option.

Lady and the Tramp has the film's original audio in lossless 3.0.

Too bad for you purist then that it doesn't include the original video too, but a re-imagined version with rotoscoping of the characters, degraining and repainting involved, aimed at the aesthetics of 21st century.

I wouldn't say that.
I'm just over-observant. (and fan of the filmic organic original look in -yes! - animation too)

I completely agree with you. We already know that luckily 101 Dalmatians will be released as the next entry in the Diamond Edition line next February; I just hope that Aladdin be the Fall 2015 Diamond Edition Blu-Ray release. It is extremely overdue.

Thats one of the few things that annoyed me about the Platinum Editon Blu-Ray of Sleeping beauty. The Original Theatrical Audio Mix wasn't included on Blu-Ray, instead it was just on the DVD copy.

I'm happy that Disney included it the Theatrical Audio on the Diamond Edition Blu-Ray but it isn't enough to make me repurchase the film. I'm extremely happy with my (2008) Platinum Edition. I've watched it four times this year.

I am more of an audio purist, but it does frustrate me when films are "cleaned up" to the result of them not looking like they had originally.

The U.S. release of the Platinum Edition Blu-Ray did have the theatrical audio mix.

Once again, Ken Brown proves he's the best reviewer on this site.

Also, the A/V quality is great for Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray. But someone will always be disappointed, no matter what happens. That's just the way the world works.

It made 240 million dollars in the U.S. alone and 743 million worldwide. I'd call that popular.

A lenticular cover has a 3D effect when you move it side to side. Usually made on a thick card stock type of plastic with ridges in it to make the effect.

Yes, those someones are usually the ones that want the original look of the film.
What an absurd thing!
To want the film as it was originally released in 35mm with grain and with the original colors! Pfff!
Next thing someone's gonna say that he wants to look at the Mona Lisa with the original colors and not repainted to blond with a purple dress!

So it's the disney regular cover and over it is the best buy slip cover? Well that's gonna drive me crazy I want everything to match
