It's truly a Regency title and Warner only had distribution for it until some point in the mid-2010s, where all of the Regency titles Warner did not have stake in (like Heat) were transferred to Fox, who gained distribution of those titles. Once Upon a Time in America was another one of those where Warner used to have it but after they lost those certain titles, it migrated to Fox and they even released the last BD a few years ago. This is why Disney has Heat as well now.

Thankfully not everything Regency produced while under them migrated to Disney/Fox, they got to keep some like JFK and Natural Born Killers.

For those that missed it. The Italian's are working on a 4K UHD release.

Lucky for us Disney do not have worldwide rights to the film.

I recently bought the extended 2 disc blu for a “reasonable” after market price.
Very satisfied with it.. The added scenes aren’t full HD quality due to source, so I don’t know how a 4K is gonna look.

I would consider getting the blu ray if you stumble across it for a decent price.
Just my two cents.

Anyone here could've told you that, even me clinging to my 2003 DVD because I can't find the 251-minute Blu, and when I do it's an arm and a leg.

Child, honey, this is not how you bump.

Way to knock me down a few pegs.

Honestly, keep it sealed. You got a really rare piece there. It would be like breaking the seal on a Wizard of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Yeah, I think I'll do that. Funny, it's just been there and I never knew it became so rare. Shrugs. Things happen.

BTW, I keep excel spreadsheet what I buy/sell/etc - bought this for 27€ from amazon.com + shipping i guess.

I just saw this post.

From what I can gather...

1. Eagle looks like they're just upscaling the old restoration to 4K from 2014-ish. While the 22 deleted scenes were in fact 4K scan/restoration/masters from the best surviving elements (I believe a 35mm positive or a 35mm workprint), I have no clue what the other 29 minutes were, since as far as I know, they haven't been touched since 2003, when an automated 2K scan/restoration/master of something other than the neg was done for the 2003 DVD, which also saw the soundtrack remixed from mono to 5.1. (Also in 2014, all forty minutes of the deleted scenes got scanned and restored, but there's some legal issue blocking the other 18 minutes that I have yet to get to the bottom of.)

2. The main way that this rumor got started is that DOTD quoted a Blu-ray.com post saying that the movie was coming soon (possibly the same post I quoted), and reported it as news. This is basically the diet version of the whole Nightmare On Elm Street debacle, where one guy here said one thing, and other people ran with it.

Aside from the Reddit thread, does anyone have any real links regarding a potential 4K of this movie?
