As I said both have pros and cons and people that deny that on either side are just being stubborn. They can coexist.

I can't speak for true lies but this did happen for Seinfeld. Sony had probably received huge sums for syndication of the show in HD, Jerry Seinfeld himself can't care and even though it is available in HD no one seems to bother releasing it in Blu ray.

This is one occasion where digital did indeed decide the fate of the show not ending up on physical media.

The fact though is that studios are more or less lazy so if customers are happy with digital and they are getting a substantial income from it, they don't seem to want to get into that extra hassle of pressing a blu ray master disk and so on.

I am not blaming digital, like you said if the title never shows up some would prefer to see it using available means like what you are doing. I am just saying that studios are at fault for not providing options and ensuring that all titles released are available in either medium, so that the customer could choose between the two.

True lies is still in my purchased UV movies in Vudu, just not purchasable at the moment if you don't own it.
I do agree they need to they need to have a way to group movies of a series. On our movies being stuck, I don't really feel stuck but I think someday if/when the other big players join UV we will have more choices. Then we can go with whoever we think has the best set up, but I'm happy with Vudu so there is no rush on my end.

I watched Mondo Macabro's release of A Lizard In A Woman's Skin last night on Blu Ray.......to think of just how good this looked compared to download, it looked fabulous.

Same with Netflix. You can do a search on movie titles, actor etc... so you will find, trilogies or bundles together. Just gotta learn how to master the search function.

It isn't about mastering the search. If I know what I want going in anyone can type some letters into a search. I want what I own grouped how I want them grouped. "Master the search function" is making an excuse for an issue that should be fixed. On Netflix I don't give a damn the order the movies are in because I'm just paying a monthly fee to access them. My movies I own in VUDU though is another story. I don't want VUDU to tell me these are the couple of ways you can have your movies displayed and that's it. I am far from the only one who wants this too. Search the VUDU forums full of avid digital fans who just want more flexibility.

Vudu doesn't seem concerned much with the efficiency of it's software. For example, the Xbox one Vudu interface is horrendous. I have emailed them a few times and yet, no updates on the interface.

And IMO here in lies one of the big problems with digital. Even though you, as someone who previously paid for True Lies, still have access to it, there's no way currently for those who didn't previously buy it digitally to obtain it.

By contrast, with physical media, there's always the secondary market and used copies to at least fall back on.

I can't buy True Lies digitally right now, but I can easily get the DVD, and cheap, too.

Granted, some out of print titles may go up in price depending on supply and demand, but at least the option exists. When something is delisted from being sold digitally, there is no legit way for someone to obtain it.

I agree ^^^, it doesn't seem logical that a movie would disappear like Amazon running out of a title on bluray. At least if you did purchase it...you still have it in your UV locker.

To be fair though, it's hard to compare physical vs. digital media using True Lies because it can also be said that physical never had True Lies in 1080p, whereas digital did.

The problem the physical side will keep running into in these coming years is that if a title isn't released on disc at all but is released digitally, then all the arguments against digital start to mean less and less. If you want to see a particular movie, you flat out won't have a choice in which format you buy it on.

Believe me I wish it weren't the case...

that is kind of the nuclear option if you remove all the fast food except for McDonalds lots of people just wont eat fast food at all. McDonalds will see a uptick in sales if something like that happens but total revenue in the fast food industry will shrink.

It might be nice if they went to that method no physical only digital. It might save the book industry . It would also honestly save me a lot of money as I would don't buy digital now and would probably spend 1/10th to nothing of what I spend now if they tried to force me to digital.

I can't put all my Fast and Furious movies together, all my 007 movies together, I can't put my Arnold movies together like I'd like to. I'm stuck with the order they have it in and that isn't practical. Not to mention these damn bundles you buy stay bundles which is dumb. Overall they should let users organize their collection like they can with real discs.

Vudu has different ways to Sort, A through Z, Release Date, Top Picks. I started a Catalog when I was Backing up my Blu-ray Movies from an Excel Spreadsheet, so I just continued this with Digital HD.

Sometimes a steak is available to purchase, at another restaurant across the road, but some people refuse to go somewhere else because they are simply fussy. Meaning, a title might be available in another country, but some silly people refuse to import (what makes this even more silly, is that the packaging is usually the main reason behind this for many).

If you think the average Joe, like the Mom with 4 kids, is interested in importing blu-rays, you're nuts. You're also assuming that the titles you want will be released in other countries at all.
