"But, darling, it's just a replacement for the blu-ray so it doesn't actually take up more space!" |

The DNR on this is a little bit too much for me especially after watching some films with heavy film grain since last week. Just one more layer of grain would have resulted in a more organic picture.

Kind of agree on the DNR (I would say it feels like Forrest Gump sometimes in the sense it doesn't make things look too waxy but it's there) but I had no major issues with HDR/WCG. All this needed was an extra layer of grain.

Watched this today. Not too crazy about the movie but it was nice overall. No issues with the picture on my end. Audio feels dated by modern standards but I like the natural colors and it could've had better contrast in few scenes but really no issues with resolution. Seems like the not enough grain complaints are more common lately on this forum. On my end grain resolves better on 4K discs so I don't expect to see more of it comparing to regular blu-rays but what do I know.

My disc started freezing about 42 minutes in. I have so many 4Ks that freeze. So annoying.

My disc (regular US-edition) started freezing around 58 minutes. I have cleaned it thoroughly, but no improvement. I also noticed that there are some very small scratches (already there upon opening) on the disc. Not sure if they are the cause.

getting the impression WB rushed this out to make the anniversary. That explains the average transfer and no Atmos

Nah. Warners don't always Atmos-ise their catalogue stuff, and the transfer is fine. If anything it's had a bit too much "care" put into it with the DNR, people never realise that it's actually more work to slather stuff with processing than to just leave it alone.
