Absolutely, and the best 3D to boot.

Each in their own way and each with their own capabilities to make a difference. One is more international, serving passionate enthusiasts and true collectors of 3D film media all over the world, while the other is dedicated to preserving the pioneering work of stereoscopic film from days gone by, bringing it into the digital age. Both deserve great recognition from us 3D fans. ![]() |

Both pursue completely different approaches in what they do, thus not comparable or assessable by more or less. What they do is complement each other positively – nothing else. |

Look, it’s great what Turbine are doing, but the two can’t be compared. This move from Turbine wouldn’t even be possible with out 3DFA, who have given us some of the most significant 3D films in history, with more to come. Turbine are given us mostly kids films, sprinkled with a few good releases like F13th.
I have removed my last post as it was a bit stroppy. |

Yours does not dip in brightness? I have two US copies and they both dip in brightness. I don't think it's the transfer itself, something must've gone wrong with the encoding process and they overlooked it and never went back to fix it. Turbine wouldn't have to resolve the current transfer, but Paramount would have to supply them with the corrected version and Turbine would then put it out there. The film is available on the Apple Vision Pro, perhaps in 4k Dolby Vision 3D, I'm willing to bet this issue is not present on that transfer. If you're watching on an LED TV where brightness is not an issue, it may not be noticeable, but on projectors, it's definitely noticeable, it's barley watchable and that's because the movie takes place during the day for most of its runtime. |

I meant the brightness starts to slowly dip around that mark, the easiest way to see it for yourself is start the movie at chapter 1, see the logos and the Cybertron scene, then go to say Chapter 17 or 18 and you'll immediately see how dim the picture got

I watched some of Chapters 1 and 2, then some of Chapters 16 and 17. (will have to go back for 18, I misremembered the numbers). The lighting was a little different, but they were in different locations and there was often smoke in the air. It seemed as though the film makers used lots of shadow and light contrasts and variations as part of the look of the film. I am not personally seeing this as a flaw, but again I would ask that others look at it and see what they think. I will say that it has been maybe 8 or 9 years since I've seen this movie, and I had forgotten just how good the 3D was and how much it added to the visual appeal. Good stuff! |

Go to say Chapter 2 or 3, then skip past chapter 10, if you're using a TV, it's not as drastic, but on a projector, it's almost night and day between brightness/lumen levels

I usually dim my TV 80% to 90% when I watch 3D movies. I'd notice if that happened. If it is the top and under masking that is baked in the film, I believe Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen have it too.

So you dim the TV when you watch 3D content? May I ask why? I do the opposite and use a higher OLED light setting (compared to 2D SDR content) in order to compensate for the glasses dimming the image.
