Yup. Far, far more than anyone else, and even that is an understatement. Major kudos to their primary partner labels Kino and BayView as well.

I’m very glad that we still have shining stereoscopic beacons of hope amid the 2-D darkness.

Absolutely, and the best 3D to boot.

No bigger preview is planned at the moment and the series might take a little summer break after #17, #18 and #19. Maybe when we come back there'll be a bigger preview again. But don't we all love surprises?
Hello @DarthLaser, excellent work on the Turbine releases, I have them all! If I could make one small request, it'd be a proper version of the 3rd live action Transformers movie, Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I know you guys helped restore Friday the 13th best you could, I just want to know if there's a possibility to fix the issue of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The original 3D Blu-ray has a significant brightness dip around the 42 minute mark that the movie never recovers from. The brightness dips from 100% all the way down to like 30% it's sad to see this from a major studio movie and was wondering if it could be fixed by the Turbine team. There of course might not need to be a "fix" from your end as a new transfer was most likely made, it just hasn't been pressed on a disc, and perhaps that's all you guys have to do.The movie luckily takes place mostly during the day, but the fixed issue of the brightness and picking up from Paramount's negligence would be incredible. Thank you for your time.

I have that movie, read about that issue in the forum recently and went to watch it in 3D in the cinema at the time it was released. Comparing with what I watched in the screening and after what I've watched home in my LED 3D TV is about the same changing the screen size, sound quality, subtitles in the wrong place and viewing position. I wonder: Could it be an error some transfers have while others (like mine) don't?

One shouldn't pit one against the other. Both are passionate about preserving 3D film media.

Each in their own way and each with their own capabilities to make a difference.

One is more international, serving passionate enthusiasts and true collectors of 3D film media all over the world, while the other is dedicated to preserving the pioneering work of stereoscopic film from days gone by, bringing it into the digital age.

Both deserve great recognition from us 3D fans.

Not putting one against the other, just heavily correcting the erroneous statement that was said about Turbine being the last company fighting for 3-D.

What does "more" mean then? It's a juxtaposition.

Both pursue completely different approaches in what they do, thus not comparable or assessable by more or less. What they do is complement each other positively – nothing else.

This move from Turbine wouldn’t even be possible with out 3DFA, who have given us some of the most significant 3D films in history, with more to come. Turbine are given us mostly kids films, sprinkled with a few good releases like F13th.

I have removed my last post as it was a bit stroppy.

Yours does not dip in brightness? I have two US copies and they both dip in brightness. I don't think it's the transfer itself, something must've gone wrong with the encoding process and they overlooked it and never went back to fix it. Turbine wouldn't have to resolve the current transfer, but Paramount would have to supply them with the corrected version and Turbine would then put it out there. The film is available on the Apple Vision Pro, perhaps in 4k Dolby Vision 3D, I'm willing to bet this issue is not present on that transfer. If you're watching on an LED TV where brightness is not an issue, it may not be noticeable, but on projectors, it's definitely noticeable, it's barley watchable and that's because the movie takes place during the day for most of its runtime.

I just popped my US copy in and watched from 39 to 43 and saw no change in brightness.

I meant the brightness starts to slowly dip around that mark, the easiest way to see it for yourself is start the movie at chapter 1, see the logos and the Cybertron scene, then go to say Chapter 17 or 18 and you'll immediately see how dim the picture got

Hmm. Ok, I'll give that a try and report back. It may take a while.

I think other folks should have a look, because I am not the most skilled at image analysis.

I watched some of Chapters 1 and 2, then some of Chapters 16 and 17. (will have to go back for 18, I misremembered the numbers). The lighting was a little different, but they were in different locations and there was often smoke in the air. It seemed as though the film makers used lots of shadow and light contrasts and variations as part of the look of the film. I am not personally seeing this as a flaw, but again I would ask that others look at it and see what they think.

I will say that it has been maybe 8 or 9 years since I've seen this movie, and I had forgotten just how good the 3D was and how much it added to the visual appeal. Good stuff!

It would still be noticeable but I never noticed as the movie looked like what I've watched in the cinema back in the day in 3D.

You mean the masking on top and bottom of the picture? I think that is there since I've watched in cinema. I think it was meant to be like that. 2D has that masking too, that's not an error.

Go to say Chapter 2 or 3, then skip past chapter 10, if you're using a TV, it's not as drastic, but on a projector, it's almost night and day between brightness/lumen levels

I usually dim my TV 80% to 90% when I watch 3D movies. I'd notice if that happened. If it is the top and under masking that is baked in the film, I believe Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen have it too.

So you dim the TV when you watch 3D content? May I ask why? I do the opposite and use a higher OLED light setting (compared to 2D SDR content) in order to compensate for the glasses dimming the image.
