So this is VERY good news indeed

Ending the Knight is a combination of 17 featurettes, but yeah they probably do total 2 hours or more. It depends on how long the Batmobile doc is. I read that it's an hour long, but when it was first revealed, I recall them saying it was a feature length doc.

Here's the titles for the individual featurettes:

- The Prologue: High-Altitude Hijacking
- Return to the Batcave
- Beneath Gotham
- The Bat
- Batman vs Bane
- Armory Accepted
- Gameday Destruction
- Demolishing a City Street
- The Pit
- The Chant
- The War on Wall Street
- Race to the Reactor
- The Journey of Bruce Wayne
- Gotham’s Reckoning
- A Girls Gotta Eat
- Shadows & Light in Large Format
- The End of A Legend

Preorder for TDKR went down on Amazon. Trilogy is still available.

Still waiting for the "Broken Cowl" edition to pop up, ditto a US steelbook. I wonder if either or both of those will be retailer exclusives?

I don't know but you can look this:

It seems like an excerpted version!

I'd go for that Trilogy set in a second, if they went back and did new, improved transfers. But I'm guessing we'll be lucky if they just manage to not screw up the transfer for TDKR.

The Batmobile documentary is an hour long. That, along with the trailers, tv spots, art galleries, and maybe the Journey of Bruce Wayne, will be on disc two. Everything else will be on disc one. This is WB's MO.

I get the feeling that the first trilogy set is simply going to be a repackage while the Ultimate Edition will be the remaster of the first two films.

Sad, but 100% true. I was thinking the exact same thing.

You are wrong.
Look at the backcover i posted it does not say anything about focus points. And the journey of Bruce is inside the documentary "Ending the Knight"

It says over 3 hours on backcover. How can you possibly think that a 2 hour documentary is on the disc with the movie its already 165 min long then the IMAX scenes putting up alot of space. And it does not say anything about tv spots either

Never said the doc was 2 hours. But, 165 minute film plus an hour and a half of focus points is just enough to fit on disc one. The back cover art may not say but it'll happen. Every big WB release has focus points. Every one! This one will be no different.

As for the tv spots, Nolan's last two BD's for WB had trailers and tv spots. This will be the same.

I own the full book and it's definitely thicker than that pic suggests. It's a fairly tall book, about the height of 2 blu ray cases stacked on top of each other. It also says "introduction by Michael Caine" on the front cover of mine, and that's missing in the pic. Have a feeling that book is excerpted.

What sense would it make to squeeze the 1.5 to 2+ hour bonus features on the first disc, and then just put a 1 hr or less batmobile doc and perhaps a few other smaller items on the 2nd? There would obviously be a lot more space left on the bonus disc, so it makes sense that the entire "Ending the Knight" featurette collection would be on the 2nd too.

I think they are going to do AT LEAST a re-encoding of Batman Begins, that it's a 2006 HD-DVD port right now, with 13 Mb/s, not acceptable for today standards...

i say the same thing. I can't see how Jumpman can't see that

It already says on the backcover OVER THREE HOURS OF BONUS FEATURES that means "Ending the Knight" is over 90 min. So how jumpman thinks its only 90 min does not ad up to over 3 hours of bonus material if the Batmobile Docu is only 45-50 min long

Trust me, the majority of my BD collection is WB and I'm telling you, "Ending the Knight" is going to end up being mostly on the first disc with the film.

The Dark Knight is 152 minutes. WB squeezed an hour and four minutes worth of documentary material on that first disc with the film.

What makes you think they won't try the same thing with this film?

Batman Begins had a picture in picture commentary. The Dark Knight had an early, early version of WB's Maximum Movie Mode (64 minutes of focus points on the first disc). Inception had a Maximum Movie Mode, which when just watched as focus points by themselves, was 50 minutes of documentary footage.

Are you guys seriously thinking that WB won't do that with this film and they'll just had three hours worth of documentary material on the second disc and nothing on the first disc?

You guys don't know WB if you think that...

Here's the 3 hours: Batmobile documentary is an hour. Ending the Knight is probably 90 minutes. Trailers and TV spots, plus art gallery probably make up 30 minutes. There's your 3 hours of bonus material...on disc.
