Ive barely scratched the Dungeons so I think Ill try completing them in the first play through. I have the ingredients for the 5th Chalice except 1 item. I wanna get there because I saw its very possible to acquire the rare gem there fast.

I don't know how to get the short ritual root Chalice for the Makeshift alter... Is it an online only thing? Do you know where to find it?

I plan on going through NG+ and NG++ to get the platinum trophy. Three different endings.

I don't remember which Root Chalices I have. I believe the Root Chalices you get within the Labyrinths themselves. Have you finished the first one? Which is three levels.

Man Rom is kicking my ass. He's easy as I always get very close to killing him but those damn spiders just don't let me finish him. Gonna use the flamethrower next time I try it.

I became annoyed with those little guys real quick so I said to hell with it and took them all out so Rom was by himself. When you hurt him enough and he teleports more drop down but I didn't mind doing things the slow way.

That's my issue. I was kinda hoping to just go after Rom and ignore the little spiders. Worked at first but than it just got to much. I'm gonna have to go the slow route with this guy.

As long as you can dish out some mean damage on him he should only teleport the one time before he dies. I only had to kill two waves of spiders.

Oh Man! That was freaking hard! I don't know how you all made it so straightforward. But finally, Ebrietas is dead. What's up with the thing behind her that I can't do anything with (I already pledged Vilebloods for the item)?

Caution. I would not use a lift in a game you are a guest in, or back up your game often. I only lost an hour of game, thankfully. But I was co-opping against Ebrietas and ended up dying with the lift in the down position. When I returned to my own game, it said the device was not functional and it was stuck down, so I could not get back to Ebrietas in my own game. Tried quitting, reloading, reawakening, dying, whatever, and nothing worked, so I had to restore a game from USB.

I think I'm just going to cheese the platinum by restoring a backup for the three endings. Play NG+ with no goals. I still need to work on the dungeons, though. I don't even know how they work.

I took out the first wave of spiders, but after that, you have to worry about the AOE attacks, and you have to keep your eye on Rom for the tell. If you just run around enough, eventually Rom will show you a side with no minions around. It's a patience boss, Dark Souls style. Souls, the game where you can slow dance with the boss forever.

The alter behind her is for

[Show spoiler]the Queen's body/skin. When you kill the Martyr King or whatever his name is you get his crown. Put the crown on while you're still on the roof and it will open a secret area where the queen is at. You can join her convenant but if you happen to kill her apparently you can bring her body to that alter to ressurect her apparently.

I joined the convenant just for the hell of it and decided to kill her anyways but she wouldn't die. I charge attacked her a good number of times. Either she takes a lot of hits or you can't kill her after you join her covenant.

So I go back to the Vileblood Queen

[Show spoiler] and a warrior with a helmet, who I presume is Alfred, carrying a Logarius Wheel has just killed the queen. I get a roar gesture from him, and some queen guts from the throne, and I can't turn in my blood dregs that I got in co-op play from killing the hunter just before the Rom boss. So I kill Logarius to get a rune or a gem, then I decide for the heck of it just to go kill the old lady who I think killed Arianna and the keeper of the chapel. I don't need them anymore.

Third level of the first dungeon, now. It's easy so far. Probably supposed to start playing it a lot earlier.

Can I finish the story and then play the dungeons without starting NG+? I guess the deeper dungeons need a much higher level than that where I am.

The minute u beat the boss on whichever end u chose the credits roll. Its not like DS where u decide to start NG. If u are going the two end boss route u can exit game after the first and be back at hunters dream. But if its one boss its end fight credits ng+

Yeah he a pain in the ass. Finally got past him though.

Are they good at anything else, though? And, I was thinking the same thing trying some drifting challenges earlier.

These things have patterns, and some people can just see stuff the rest of us do not. Like the people who remember everything. Just weird.

To those saying you have to slow dance around bosses in Dark Souls. YOu really just need to get good, you absolutely do not need to do that.

Was running through the third Chalice Labyrnth and on the third floor the boss is Rom and you fight him in a smaller room than that huge ocean looking level. After I finally beat him I left thinking he was the final but apparently this Labyrnth has a 4th floor. When fighting him I didn't see the next door and someone online said that it can sometimes glitch and the door won't even show. Not sure if that's what happened or if I didn't look around better. I just hope I don't have to fight him again today, I'll most likely have to.

There's a video over at Polygon of a guy beating the game at level 4 with the Bag of Bones class. I'm not linking it because the entire video is him fighting the end boss instead of an actual playthough. So only look it up if you've finished the game.
