Game install sizes are getting ridiculous. I miss the days when everything was just on the disk. We need a new optical media with high capacity storage and almost instantaenous read times like HVD (Holographic video Disks) that were supposed to be in development or some other such tech. I know internal and externall HDD sizes are getting bigger but it's still ridiculous and puts stress on consoles considering how SSDs are still very expensive to avoid those mechanical faults.

It be nice if console companies would go back to “reading” discs like last gen. It seems their solution is drastically different going for streaming. If they get it right, that would certainly put 0 stress on your console. Even if they get it right though, they should start with SP games only imo.

If gaming went to streaming and not allow downloading the games that’s when I quit playing games.

I do physical for most games because of my poor internet connection (2.5mbps on a good day). If they can fit all the singer player game on one disc so I can be up and playing within 10 minutes, I'm cool with one disc.

I hate buying a game at midnight only to play it two days later waiting on the updates to download. Hopefully, it's like what the previous posters speculate that the multiplayer patch will come a little later.

You should be good with HDD being used in next gen hardware. I see a hybrid implementation.

Yeah I think it’s ridiculous that if people buy the physical copy that they still have to install the games. Honestly I think they are doing cause they are planning on moving to DRM with consoles. There’s no excuse why we shouldn’t be able to pop in a Disc and start playing without installing anything. We shouldn’t even have loading screens in games it’s 2018 you think they would figure out a way to get rid of them.

Usually they allow pre download for games or atleast Xbox does Sony I’ve always had to wait till the day before to download a pre ordered game Xbox usually allows earlier pre download. But games download faster on my Xbox 1 then they do on my Playstation.

I’d say wait for reviews but they are most likely gonna be tooooo positive. In that case I’d wait to watch some Real gameplay when it launches to see if its a game you’d be interested in playing.

If you’ve played the first game or GTA 5 or any Rockstar game then you know you won’t be disappointed. I haven’t played one Rockstar game that I felt wasn’t worth buying. They are all about quality that’s why they take their time and is willing to spend the money are making their games. My only issue with them is when they delay the game 20 times and promise Single player DLC and won’t deliver.
