It drives me insane that I get those brightness shifts while watching the Kino disc in DV on my Panny. I have to use my old X700 to avoid it (which miraculously has stopped freezing the way it used to).
I never even bothered with the Kino after reading the encoding wasn't that great. I knew Arrow would be putting it out sooner or later. I'm glad I held off.

I used his site (Whiggles then Land of Whimsy) along with DVD Maniacs forum for info on gialli. Both him and Troy Howarth were regs on either or both and both now have written on the genre and contribute to liner notes and commentaries which have ended up on releases.

Indeed. I remember Troy from the forum also. I think he had just written his first book at the time. Those were the days when DVD was king, and Xploited Cinema (RIP) was my go-to retailer. I even remember Bill Olsen's first post introducing Code Red. Sigh. All those moments lost in time, like tears...

I checked and it looks like DVD Maniacs is gone? I believe it became AV Maniacs at some point? Other sites were 10K Bullets? Mondo Digital still thriving, with better formatting (not a ton of Franco films in one long ass page). There was Bloody Disgusting as well. DVD Talk. I believe one of the people from Rock Shock Pop used to contribute there.

Oh, yeah. DVD Maniacs has been gone for years. So has the Horror DVDs forum, I believe. 10K Bullets is surprisingly still around. That was another site I relied on for reviews. Mondo Digital is my go-to review site nowadays, although I wish the guy would go into more detail about PQ. DVD Drive-In did a better job of that, but that site seems to be on hiatus. It hasn't been updated in two years. I don't check out Rock! Shock! Pop! much, although I probably should. Ian Jane, who I believe runs that site, was another DVD Maniacs regular.

I still use Mondo, and for content comparisons I use DVD Compare/Rewind. There is this site and DVD Beaver, and of course, the insanely valuable Caps a Holic. Thinking about that, Whiggles had a pre-CAH style toggle between screenshots of multiple editions, but with text describing what was going on, for example poor PAL to NTSC conversion by Media Blasters.

This movie kinda reminds me of posters on here who give in to teal and blanket tints and all kinds revisionism then when some of us who are still human speak out and say the truth we are mobbed on and banned while the braindead teal idiots celebrate.

Already another unintelligible, shunned babble-sock, with a gripe, a chip, and a score to settle, less than 72 hours into 2024...This sock kinda reminds me of...a colostomy bag that needs emptying....

Enjoy all the teal, blanket tints, dnr, sharpening, bad compression and AI upscaling they throw at you. Remember some of us tried to save us all from this fate.

No one can even teal what you're babbling about. Maybe sock is in wrong thread? Enjoy all the fabric softener they throw at you? Whatever you do, don't go in the mud bath.

Tip: Always separate socks from new denim. Otherwise, they can pick up a really bad cyan tint. All over. You can never unsee it. It's a terrible hill to dye on....

It's a sock that's apparently an expert on saving idiots from blankets....and got lost in the spin cycle on his way to another Cameron thread. Maybe he thought Ai stood for alien invasion?

Do you know if this has the same audio issue as the US 4k release, where the audio is missing when a character is speaking to someone on the radio in a car?
