This just seems poorly designed, given that you could never use all your credits. Even if the $20 plan allowed 7 movies, which it doesn't, at 10 credits per movie you'd be paying for 4 credits you couldn't use. Since that plan allows a max of 4 movies, at 10 or 15 per, you've got between 14 & 34 credits unused. Do the points at least roll over?

This seems just like when compaies (aka Microsoft back in the day) make things point based, and make the amounts so you can never use all of your points.

Up to two months of rollovers.

At my theater it looks like I could max out at 7 movies a month. We'll see how it pans out. I expect it to not be smooth.

I was a pretty long time customer back in the day but still didn't get an invite. I'm mostly just curious anyway. I can't see this being better than A-list for anyone with a solid quality AMC nearby.

I did get the invite, and it's not. Not even remotely as good of a deal, assuming you have access to AMC.

I'm tempted. It depends on their support for the local chains - Marcus and Flix. Neither have any kind of subscription service, so, this would be new.

Its nearly impossible for movie pass to make money and be a good deal for consumers. They are a middle man that hasnt negotiated a discount. If you pay them 20 dollars and you get 30 dollars in value then they lost 10 dollars and if payed them 20 dollars and only got 10 dollars worth of tickets then the consumer got a terrible deal.

The only way movie pass works is if as a middle man they get a good deal themselves so the consumer gets like 30 dollars worth of tickets while movie pass paid 15 for them and the consumer gave them a 20. That seems like what movie pass wanted originally buying millions of tickets and hoping for a discount but the theaters did not see a value in movie passes existence or why they could not simply do it themselves cutting out the middle man.

Some of your AMCs must be operating with normal showtimes and not this bs open from 3-730pm with even weekends having no showtime after 800pm because if your AMCs are like the one here (with Dolby Cinema) A-List absolute trash in comparison.

We have 1 Regal and 1 AMC (they shut down the 2nd one during pandemic) Both are the worst theaters in town (We have 5 other theaters in town including two Cinemarks.) Moviepass being back is awesome, especially with the original CEO at the helm. 2013-mid 2016 were great years to be a moviepass member, expect more like that than the dumpster fire that was 2017-2019.

The AMC closest to me opens at 2, but the other ones in the area don't start showing movies until 3. Thankfully they still have showtimes after 8. Regal opens at 12, so I usually go there.

Saturday showings for the main new release at my AMC this upcoming weekend

It's ridiculous. Was the same for Knock at the Cabin this weekend. Meanwhile every other theater in town had like 4-6 showings between 730-1030.

Yeah, my Regal does have normal showtimes but it is awful.
Only their RPX screen is updated. Rest of theaters haven't had remodel since the theater opened (when it was Hollywood Theaters) Whenever there is any type of promotion for anything they never get any of the stuff. Actually had to tell them a concessions deal sign they had up at every register said "display until 12/2020". None of them even knew what it said. Nice kids but you could tell them and their manager had no care whatsoever. Also first time Ive ever been told by an employee to bring my own candy in if I want candy. Seems Regal themselves don't care as I contacted corporate to see why this theater gets neglected and corporate didn't even say they'd look into it, just "not all Regals will participate in promotional offers. If this Regal is not, try one of our other local Regal Cinemas. We appreciate blah blah blah"...next closest is 2 hrs away. I'd love to support Regal as they have Pepsi products i prefer and that membership is a good value but if the company isn't going to care why should I. I get 25% off concessions at Cinemark as well.

Used my new moviepass last night for Knock at The Cabin. Smooth transaction like I remembered. Additionally, I don't think they are counting XD (Cinemark) , Dolby Cinema (AMC) or RPX (Regal) as premium formats as none are blocked out in the app. This may likely be an oversight since it is still in beta. IMAX and 3D are blocked out, though those may be offered by summer as they are working on a tier including them.

Mine was 8. I think they said if it goes beyond 15 days to reach out to them.

Saw 3 movies so far. Smooth sailing. I have noticed some glitches. Like I had to reactivate again before my first movie. I also noticed Thursday disappeared before the day was over which brought back bad memories. Could’ve just been a glitch, but so far I’ve been able to use this without issues.

Ted Farnsworth pleads guilty to defrauding MoviePass investors (one count of securities fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit securities fraud), faces up to 25 years.

Mitch Lowe had pled guilty to securities fraud conspiracy last year and could get up to five years but still hasn't been sentenced.

I'm sure most of us are aware, but they are hiking the price up to $13 next month for monthly sub, meaning I will be cancelling my second MP sub.

In my area I can barely squeeze in 1 movie a month and feel like I am saving a couple bucks, so the 30% increase means it is pointless when I can just go on Tuesdays for $6 (and haven't been using MP for that since they charge full price on discount night).

I could go find the article or email but really after the second time around it isn't a big suprise and hasn't seemed like anyone else has been putting up with the hassle and just use the other alternatives. It was ok while it lasted, I signed up for some BlackFriday hype that turned out to just be the actual normal price, but except for one month I've seen one film a month for 10 bucks per, so it was a "nominal" deal that I could go opening weekend or really anytime for that price. But going with the family was a PITA, having to do 2 transactions (I have the phsyical card to avoid fees) one for me and one for the family.

Cest le vie, maybe I'll resub in another decade when they get reinvested again. I'm 2 for 2!
