I really hope sometime in the not-too distant future that a Blu-ray release using the original camera negative happens, as while watching the Film Chest DVD release the weekend before last I was imagining just how much better the film would look (I did wonder if the picture looked a bit tight at time with some of the close-ups). I knew what to possibly expect/expect with Silent Night, Bloody Night's transfer on Film Chest's DVD release, so I was pleasantly surprised on the whole. And the sound was clear. There were a few jump cuts with the editing, which at times made me wonder if there is any additional footage, or if it was intentional.

This isn't criticising some other slashers, but there was plenty of content with the plot (complicated plot at times, a lot of details etc. nearly making you struggle to keep up with and follow the plot). Definitely has revisit value. And I loved the wintry setting, making me think of Longlegs that I saw at the cinema last month. The music and structure of the plot (including the flashbacks) were some of the other strong points (and there was one scene that made me think of the original Psycho
[Show spoiler](where one of the well-known actors was killed off early).

I was so willing it to be perfect. Wasn't sure about the scene before the end, but it didn't spoil the film (I'd give it four and a half, maybe even five stars).

Bought Courage the Cowardly Dog: Complete Series & The Point 1972 or...was it 1971?

Unfortunately, the Courage the Cowardly Dog Season 3 Disc 2 got scratched-up & the case has a crack on the backside...Should've ordered just the Season 3 & 1 separately. Otherwise, if I had, I would've avoided that scenario...will rectify that later in the year.

Also bought BeetleJuice the Complete Series. Arrived the same day that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was released in theaters. The animated series was the only reason why I became familiar with the character.

I own the German Blu-ray of Silent Night, Bloody Night which utilizes the 720p file (supposedly sourced from a theatrical print) that Vinegar Syndrome posted on their site ten years ago. It looks really good (could be better, of course), but I've never owned the Film Chest DVD. I wonder if it is also sourced from the Vinegar Syndrome file?

I can't believe this film doesn't have an official Blu-ray (2K or 4K) release yet. It's a public domain title, so there shouldn't be any rights issues.
