So, I was seriously considering ordering the Japanese import from Amazon.co.jp, when I saw mention on this thread of a Canadian release, it has indeed shown up and is listed as in stock on Amazon.ca, for the price of CDN$ 17.95, a much more attractive price. The question is, since Amazon.ca does the same fine job that Amazon.com does of ignoring little bits of data like Aspect ratio, soundtrack listings and such for their item listings, is this indeed in the correct aspect ratio, does it indeed include lossless audio, and if anyone has picked this up yet, how is the release since I have heard that Alliance has a mixed track record. The price isn't too much to risk, but if I can get the skinny on this release before buying I can get the right release the first time, whether that turns out to be the Japanese or Canadian version.
Thanks, Chris |

I've asked this same question in the Canadian Blu-ray forum. I also would like to know the specs of the Canadian release. |

OK, any audio reviews for the Canadian release? Given the price difference and my current budget I figure that if there is no video problem other than the aspect ratio and if the English lossless track is of the same quality as that on the Japanese release, I could get that release and get enough enjoyment out of it while waiting to see if Buena Vista will get off of their collective duffs and get a US release going anytime in the next few months, and if they don't I can then get the Japanese release. But if the audio is not as top notch as the Japanese BD, I'll just do without until I can budget in the import and figure out how to order from Amazon.jp since the site does not seem to recognize accounts from other Amazons the way the .fr, .co.uk, and .ca sites do and the English version of the page does not seem to include English on the field labels in the sign up form. All that frustration plus the price makes the Canadian release much more attractive as long as the lossless audio is up to snuff.
Thanks, Chris |

I'm wondering the same thing as I can also forgo the aspect providing the AQ is good. Heck, I may buy it anyway if BB gets it on the 15th. I've been waiting for this title for too long. |

All you have to do is find what you are looking for on the English page, add it to your cart, click proceed to checkout. Then the screen that cones next is in Japanese, but there should be a little sentence in the upper left corner that says to switch to English: ![]() After that, just follow the screens like normal. |

It is setting up a new account that I am having trouble with. When I go to the English version, the labels on the fields to fill out do not appear in \English. I use a screen reader for the blind as I am legally blind to access the internet, and when I try to register an account, the field labels all read "question mark question mark question mark..." which is what is read when characters of foreign languages are encountered. So I can't tell which field is for First Name, Last Name, Zip Code and so on. If the actual text appears in English, the screen reader still thinks they are in Japanese, so it has made registration impossible for me. Really annoying since I would like to get The Crow and several other Japan only releases as well and the other sites that sell these Blu-rays are signifigantly more expensive for the titles I am interested in. I really wish they participated in the universal account setup that other Amazon sites use. I only understand a tiny bit of French, but I was able to log into the Amazon.fr site with my Amazon.com account and ordered the Dune BD without any difficulty. I now have bought titles or have saved cart items at the Canadian, UK, and French Amazon sites all with my US Amazon account. If the Japanese site worked this way I would have no problem. I've had no problem finding the BDs I want on the site, it is just getting an account that is proving difficult.
