Is it big secret or something?
![]() Anyway...just last week I got the "Live and Let Die" Steelbook (completing my set) from a UK seller. He sent it sealed and inside a wrap, so I emailed the seller back and popped the question and he seems to be using these (I think they were mentioned in an earlier post): ebay Linky. Overpriced (rip-off even) for sure, but having already wasting nearly as much on two (alternative) packs these are starting to look like a good choice! p.s. I'm talking for UK posters only so need to reply with the "shop4tech" link!!! Last edited by Red Skies; 08-03-2009 at 11:32 AM. |

Was checking out the Shop4tech option tiger_qc listed, but since I'm in Canada it will cost between $22.80 and $45.92 for shipping, plus I need to send them a copy of a piece of identification. That seems a bit much for 6 bucks worth of plastic. Anyone know of any alternative that might be sold in stores (Futureshop etc)?

I trade Steelbooks with US members quite often and I just kindly ask for sleeves when I get some Steels and pay the extra with paypal, I believe shipping is free in the US. But I feel your pain we get royally screwed with shipping cost up here! Cheers, Gui. |

I found this site from another forum, they ship to the USA and Canada.
http://www.effectuality.com/store/it...tore/us/lng/en Since this store has an illustration it should be fine for steelbooks. Obviously the height is still an issue, but folding over the back side shouldn't be a problem since they have the sticky overlap. |

I just bought 50 from ebay for £4.80.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT Because of the shorter blu case, it does overlap on the back by 1" or so. But its not exactly a big deal. I'm happy. |

I also started to cut the bags from shop4tech just above the sticky strip, and they now fit perfectly for a blu-ray steelbook and seal on the very top (no overlap to the back). There are some blu-ray specific bags out there, but they cost more to get, and I tried some that are blu-ray specific, clear just like the shop4tech ones, but don't fit a steelbook at all. They are cut to fit just blu-ray US sized amaray cases, which are a little thinner than a blu-ray steelbook case. I ripped open every single one I tried on a steelbook. Oh, and if you are asking if they will work for regular plastic blu-ray cases, then the answer is yes. There are also some bags from bagsunlimited that are cut specifically for blu-ray cases. They have different versions available, but they are more expensive than shop4tech. They have a thin, clear polybag that is cut for blu-ray cases, and they are resealable. These do not work for blu-ray steelbooks because they are not as wide. They will work perfectly for thin plastic amaray blu-ray cases. I tried to get one of these clear bagsunlimited polybags on a blu-ray steelbook, and I ripped the bag every time. Blu-ray steelbooks are slightly wider than a standard amaray blu-ray case. Bagsunlimited also has a thicker blu-ray polybag that does work for blu-ray steelbooks, but they are the most expensive out there, and they are not clear like the cheaper ones or the dvd sized ones from shop4tech. I personally like the bags from shop4tech since they are cheaper, and once I cut them, they look much cleaner. Last edited by mr. b; 09-06-2009 at 06:30 AM. |
