The bags I use are not perfect for blu-rays, but a little scotch tape on the back to hold the flap down and you can't tell. Are you sure you got the right bags? It sounds like you might have some bags that are made for slim dvd cases, which is why they won't fit and keep ripping open.

These are the bags I have used without issue:

Just received these by mail and fit my Troy steelbook from Germany with no issues...

Is it big secret or something?

Anyway...just last week I got the "Live and Let Die" Steelbook (completing my set) from a UK seller. He sent it sealed and inside a wrap, so I emailed the seller back and popped the question and he seems to be using these (I think they were mentioned in an earlier post): ebay Linky.

Overpriced (rip-off even) for sure, but having already wasting nearly as much on two (alternative) packs these are starting to look like a good choice!

p.s. I'm talking for UK posters only so need to reply with the "shop4tech" link!!!

I buy mine 7€ for the lot of 100. Ask CdnBlu, they're made for DVD sized cases but if you flip them at the top, they fit nicely.

Was checking out the Shop4tech option tiger_qc listed, but since I'm in Canada it will cost between $22.80 and $45.92 for shipping, plus I need to send them a copy of a piece of identification. That seems a bit much for 6 bucks worth of plastic. Anyone know of any alternative that might be sold in stores (Futureshop etc)?

Hello Mr_Flibble I'm from Canada and I totally agree, shipping is totally out of price...
I trade Steelbooks with US members quite often and I just kindly ask for sleeves when I get some Steels and pay the extra with paypal, I believe shipping is free in the US.
But I feel your pain we get royally screwed with shipping cost up here!

Cheers,
Gui.

Don't know of any places that sell them up in Canada. You can also go through paypal on their site if you want, but those shipping charges to Canada are ridiculous. Shoot me a pm if you want. I can get them shipped free to me, and I think it would be just a few dollars to ship them to Canada. Check my trade thread also, and if we can work out a trade, I can send the bags with the steelbook.

I have about 20 or so if you're still looking for some. You can just pay for shipping. I'm also selling the steelbooks like Troy and The Interpreter if you're interested. Thanks.

I just wanted to order some and although they are $6 the shipping is $25 or so to Canada
Maybe I should buy ziplock bags or one of those lunch ones and store my Steelbooks in it.
Walmart here I come

I found this site from another forum, they ship to the USA and Canada.

http://www.effectuality.com/store/it...tore/us/lng/en

Since this store has an illustration it should be fine for steelbooks. Obviously the height is still an issue, but folding over the back side shouldn't be a problem since they have the sticky overlap.

Has anyone actually tried these. From the photo on the site it looks like there is some sort of printing in the bottom right corner of the bag. If there is these would be a no go for me

Cheers

I just bought 50 from ebay for £4.80.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Because of the shorter blu case, it does overlap on the back by 1" or so. But its not exactly a big deal. I'm happy.

I have some extras lying around, and I can order some of the blu-ray covers for you at cost+shipping. Shoot me a pm if you want.

I also started to cut the bags from shop4tech just above the sticky strip, and they now fit perfectly for a blu-ray steelbook and seal on the very top (no overlap to the back). There are some blu-ray specific bags out there, but they cost more to get, and I tried some that are blu-ray specific, clear just like the shop4tech ones, but don't fit a steelbook at all. They are cut to fit just blu-ray US sized amaray cases, which are a little thinner than a blu-ray steelbook case. I ripped open every single one I tried on a steelbook.

will the shop4tech sleeves work for regular blu-ray cases? Or will they be to big.

They are cut for a regular dvd sized case, so they are too long for a blu-ray case. I was simply folding them over to the back and using scotch tape to keep it closed instead of the sticky strip that is on it. I started cutting just above the sticky strip, and they work much better; the sticky strip closes right on top of the case.

Oh, and if you are asking if they will work for regular plastic blu-ray cases, then the answer is yes. There are also some bags from bagsunlimited that are cut specifically for blu-ray cases. They have different versions available, but they are more expensive than shop4tech. They have a thin, clear polybag that is cut for blu-ray cases, and they are resealable. These do not work for blu-ray steelbooks because they are not as wide. They will work perfectly for thin plastic amaray blu-ray cases. I tried to get one of these clear bagsunlimited polybags on a blu-ray steelbook, and I ripped the bag every time. Blu-ray steelbooks are slightly wider than a standard amaray blu-ray case. Bagsunlimited also has a thicker blu-ray polybag that does work for blu-ray steelbooks, but they are the most expensive out there, and they are not clear like the cheaper ones or the dvd sized ones from shop4tech. I personally like the bags from shop4tech since they are cheaper, and once I cut them, they look much cleaner.
