You guys here in this forum got me into lost Im currently on season2,I have never seen a harry potter movie but once Im done with lost I plan on seeing all of them hopefully this one is out on blu ray by then.

Actually, it was changed because the publisher didn't want kids to think the story was about Ancient Greece, as most of them weren't up on archaic medieval Alchemy references anyway...
They felt more prudent to put a wizard in the title, as it might be, like, y'know, a HINT.

It is the correct title for the American release of the film and book. It's not like they just called it something else, the film is actually functionally changed to replace all references to the philosopher's stone.

I never got that by the way. Did they really think no Americans would know the legends of the philosopher's stone or have ever heard of alchemy? I wouldn't be all that familiar with the concept myself if not for Fullmetal Alchemist, but I still had heard of alchemy and the stone apart from it.

I just hope they include an option to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone on an American release at some point. It'd be easy as pie with seamless branching too.
