The Hitcher.
Was better than expected with surprisingly good PQ.

Watched Spy Game (again)
Love Redfords' role and don't mind Pitt.

Bought and watched Region B version of Twister.
Kills Region A version for PQ and AQ (DTSHD-MA)

WOW, what a display of A/V hood!!!!!! (is that a word?)

State of Play

Good political thriller, Some washed out night scenes and day scenes early in the movie followed up by some nice PQ for the rest of the movie. AQ was good but some dialogue was very low making me reach for the volume control.

Yeah, I owned the U.S. version too!!
And yeah, the difference is clearly visible and audible!!

I used to pounce on catalog titles from Region A, as they came out there sooner,
but now I just wait in case the Region B release is superior.

Twister is a good example, also Stargate(which the Yanks are re-releasing)
Even Braveheart which is out in Region A with True Hd is coming to Region B
in Nov with DTSHD-MA!!!

As long as you have multi region capability you can just buy the best version.

In case you haven't, well at least the Region B Twister is not locked.
I bought mine from Amazon.UK but the Aussie one should be identical.

Rented Die Hard 4 the other night. Looks astounding on Blu IMHO. The movie itself was such great fun. It was the first time I've seen it and it really caught me by surprise (gave it a pass in theatres: big mistake, would've been good on the big screen!). The action sequences are - simply put - awesome! Can't get much better than taking down a helicopter with a car. The plot itself wasn't much, but I'll nevertheless definitely purchase this one sometime within the next week or so.

Just picked up Band of Brothers for a good price from Amazon UK and am waiting on a delivery of Star Trek TOS Season Two from Amazon. Recently watched The Mummy Trilogy and am going to do the Batman Begins/Dark Knight double tonight!

Bought Indiana Jones 4 earlier today. Awesome movie. Not up to the standards of The Last Crusade (my fav of the lot; can't wait for it on Blu), but a greatly enjoyable flick nevertheless. Quality is excellent.
