Default 30 Days of Night Sequel: Dark Days

http://www.movieweb.com/news/NEvF6zzBrgHfyC

Bloody Disgusting announced today that director Ben Ketai is set to direct the sequel to 30 Days of Night, which will be titled Dark Days. Ketai developed the story with Steve Niles.

The screenplay has Stella Oleson returning as the lead character, but the actress will be recast in this follow-up. The sequel finds Stella joining a group of vampire hunters to get revenge on Lilith, the vampire responsible for the Alaskan attack seen in the first film. Ketai previously worked on the web series 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails and 30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust.

30 Days of Night: Dark Days is set to start shooting this October in Vancouver, Canada.

I wish it was the woman from the first one as Stella.

This will make me see the first one, even though I hear that like Twilight it's not a traditional vampire movie.

About a year ago I saw a series of short films that took place in a city right around the same time as '30 days' with some intersecting story stuff. I don't remember a lot about them, but I liked them better than the original film.

Correct. They are not the Nancy-ass, tuxedo wearing, romantic kind. They behave much like the creatures in The Descent. They are hungry and dont waste a lot of time BSing. They just go for the jugualr...literally. I loved the first.

I dunno, I always liked Lestat and Dracula. Two true immortals who feel emotions most vampires wouldn't and are tortured by their very existence but keep on existing anyway. Other people may hate vampires like that but I've always enjoyed reading about them and seeing them in movies.

I love any vampires that don't sparkle.

Its not that one is better than the other.....just very different.

30 days vampires are more focused on satisfying their carniverous urges than making small talk. They certainly are not deep characters by any means.

loved the first one but the ending didn't sit right with me (too cliche, too cheesy, too unlikely for a vampire, a combo of both). maybe i need to watch it again. either way, great background plot for a vampire flick. AWESOME PQ!

Yeah I guess I'm in the same boat, I loved Interview with the Vampire way more then the ones like JCV, I'm not to into that whole thing but it makes it much more interesting when you see it from another side as opposed to running around ripping heads off.

I loved that movie also. The book seemed depressing in comparison.

Anyways I prefer soul-searching (maybe the wrong word?) vampires than simple bloodthirsty ones also.

Check it out, it's a pretty cool vampire movie. Not too excited for the sequel though, as Melissa George isn't coming back. Weak
