FOX is dead if they cancel this show...at least dead to me...although it will be hard to boycott them when they also have House and Bones...this show is deffinitely better than Grey's Anatomy, it's better than the newer seasons of house, and it's deffinitely better than CSI, and supremely better than prison break

When is the Nielsen ratings going to take into account dvr use? Fringe is getting huge dvr numbers. I rarely watch Fringe when it airs because I work nights and unavailable to watch it live. I usually record it and watch it at my convenience.

Ratings do count dvr numbers if the show is watched within 24 hours.

Didn't Alias have less than stellar ratings after season one? And it was all over the map on different nights all the time and it still lasted 5 seasons. No way Fox would pull the plug this early on Abrams. 4-6 seasons hopefully no more, dont want it to drag.

But that was ABC. Fox has been known for pulling the plug on a series before it's time. The best thing that Fringe has going for it is it's a Abrams production. I think the story is better this year. The problem is the competition on Thursday night. Some of the Blogs and web sites that I look at are saying that Fox is pleased with Fringe's ratings compared to their previous Thursday night line up. That's a good sign that it will be back for a full second year and possibly a third.

I'm not 100% sure but I doubt it, they will probably show a movie or reruns tonight since the time was held for game 7. They didn't promote it airing this week so they most likely will hold it until next week.

Grrrrrr, he can't leave, I like him as Bell. They haven't even started development on the Bell character! Argh, that would throw everything off and require such massive script changes or a completely lame "Well, Bell had an accident travelling back and this is what he looks like now" story.

If it is the case where they are going to cancel the show I REALLY hope they close the show off tying up all the loose ends to satisfy the fans of this show. |

![]() He is an extremely irregular guest (we've seen him two of three times for what probably amounts to a mere 5 minutes total screen time in 2 seasons so far). He would be stupid not to take the cash for the occasional half day of work imo ![]() About the ratings, it's all relative. If Fringe was pulling a 2.8-2.0 (I don't think yesterday's share is representative after a two week hiatus) in an empty time slot then yes, it would be dead. Putting a Sci-Fi serialized show against Grey's anatomy (ABC's best with Lost), CSI (CBS's best) and The Office (NBC's best) is kindof like counter-programming. It's not made to attract huge numbers, or if they think they could compete they were delusionnal. In that time slot, they would need a 24, House or better an American Idol. Fringe simply cannot be a new X-Files, because it is too complicated and serialized compared to your average CSI or Grey's anatomy one shot episode. All this being said, because nothing is in a vaccuum, Fringe is actually doing better than what Fox had in this time slot last year it seems, but it would do better elsewhere, definitely (I liked it on Tuesdays personally). |

I can't fathom who or how one would watch the show live with all the commercials in it... And yes, I agree with you, DVR numbers have to be included, it's the reality. What's wrong with those people anyway..

DVR numbers are included if you watch the show within 24 hours.

I watch shows live. I'm doing it more this year than ever before. I have a lit of tv that I watch right now. Fringe should move to wed at 8. There is practically nothing on at that time.
