Teach them to tell people they are hallucinating, and seeing one person as two.

Although I guess that only works if they're identical.

All the money a parent will spend on an additional child, raising them from 0-18 (or 22 if they pay through college) will contribute far more to the economy than the additional taxes.

Maybe the tax credits and deductions should have reverse phase-outs, so people that make below a certain threshold get no deductions and no credits, which might encourage lower-income families to stop having kids that they can't afford to raise.
On this, we agree. We must also take into account that these kids will also grow up, work, pay taxes and contribute to society (well, most of them). I never understood why some people complain about minimal tax breaks given to families ensuring the future of society and the human race.

Knowing my luck, all this means is that I'm 19 years, 364 days from being struck by lightning.

LOL...... I'm fairly certain that people would still procreate...... even without tax breaks. But you do hear so many complaints about the "gubment" giving away free money to people who didn't earn it, and redistribution of wealth. In a very real sense giving tax breaks to people JUST for having kids is like taking tax dollars out of the pockets of childless people and handing it over to parents. I think having kids is great (for other folks ) but I also think they should be fully prepared to 100% support them on their own before they even think about having them.

I'm all for a future where I have the potential to turn into an immortal renegade cyborg. That's a future I want to be a part of.
