Here's a funny thing. I've just searched for Toy Story 1 & 2 on Amazon.fr and came up with these (which will be out here on April 7th):

Toy story [Blu-ray] (28.99€) & Toy story 1 [Blu-ray] (23.99€)

Toy story 2 [Blu-ray] (28.99€) & Toy story 2 [Blu-ray] (23.99€)

Which leads me to think it's either a mistake, or that we're getting two versions...

I do. But most of the time, this sort of information might be valuable to other people. No one's going to be posting in a Toy Story thread in the French forum, as far as I know.

I've signed up to be notified with Toy Story 1 & 2 on Amazon UK

Interestingly they have Finding Nemo available to Pre Order due to be released in May? Has this been confirmed?

I dont think Nemo has yet been confirmed.
I asked Disney not so long ago about the May date Amazon had it set for, and they said they were unable to confirm it.

Amazon have had a release date for Finding Nemo for ages now, and my bet is its because so many have preordered it so they dont want to delete it from their site altogether, so instead they keep changing the date whenever we approach it.

I'd love Nemo to come out this year but i personally cant see it, PIXAR are already releasing Toy Story 1/2/3, and also Up over here in Feb.

Who knows though, it might come this year, would be great if it did

If it is like the US releases then we should have a DVD Combo as well

Personally I want 3D on the Blu-ray

I'm surprised there aren't more people posting in the French forums. There is a big Disney fanbase in France - I have a lot of Disney friends over there.

What are you gonna do...

Anyway, I posted some info regarding the French Dumbo release, which's special features should be the same on the UK release.

I'm glad there's a cine-explore feature, I loved those on Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio.

I hope the shorts have been remastered in Hi-Def, like the one's included on the Snow White Blu Ray.

I'm quite looking forward to this.

A nice appetiser to the main course of Fantasia a bit later on, and of course, the sweetest dessert of Beauty and the Beast at the end of the year.

Why does disney keep movies in their vaults? have you seen how much people are selling these out of print movies for?

Yeah most of them sell at high prices on eBay.

The reason Disney only keep their classic movies out for a certain period of time, is so that they can keep re-releasing them, with a better restore and sometimes more special features.
Basicly, to make more moneys

Its a good marketing strategy, if you think about it.
If Disney were to keep all of their classics available all of the time (like most other studios), chances are most would have already got them by now so their sales would be no where near as high for their classics.

And Disney know that, because all of their classic films will be childhood gems to just about everyone, they'll go out and buy the newer version, to re-live their childhood memories .

The strategy does have its downsides though, for impatient people like me who want so many of their classic titles on Blu, but will have to wait a few years for them to come out of the Disney Vault

On a side note: Sleeping Beauty goes back to the Disney vault at the end of this month, so if you havent got your Blu copy yet, nows the time

So what Disney Blu-ray's do you currently own then?
All of them, or..?

I've got all of them except 'Dinosaur'.
Currently have: Snow White, Pinnochio, Sleeping Beauty, Wall-E, Ratatouille/Pixar Shourts, Cars, A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell & TLT, Bolt, Meet The Robinsons, Chicken Little, A Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Wild.

I have more Disney Blu's like Pirates of The Caribbean etc too, but i just ment animation ones.

I THINK thats all of them? Or have i missed any out

It's kind of hard to determine what really constitutes a Disney Blu-ray, in my opinion. I'd like to say it's all the animated ones, but there's real life Disney like Narnia or Bedtime Stories. Also, some of the Disney animations are distributed by Buena Vista (I know it's the same thing, but they're not "Disney Blu-ray"s). Sorry for the rant. :P

Little do you know, I've been working on a Disney Blu-ray database over at SteelBook Hunterz, having tried to locate all the covers and info on the different releases. I'll show you once I get it finished, still have a couple of letters to go through.

Alice, Black Cauldron and Fantasia would make for a fantabulous 2010.
