Watched The Lookout. This movie was actually really good. I didn't know what to expect from reading about this movie. It was not really about a bank heist IMO it was more about the character Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays. Jeff Daniels does a nice job as well.

Film: 4.5/5

PQ: 4.5/5

AQ: 4/5 (alot of dialogue)

The Big Lebowski, on DVD.

Quite a letdown actualy. I heard a lot about this movie and I expected too much I think. It's on IMDB's top 250 too. It was funny from time to time but after about 1.5h into the movie I was like 'when is this going to end...' only to notice it was another 30 mins.
I give it a 6.5/10. Could have been 30 mins shorter.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

As long as it was, it was also beautiful, unique and inspiring. I didn't watch it on BD however, i picked it up on DVD for $4 during the Black Friday sale at Wal-Mart, so i can't pass any judgement on PQ & AQ. Definitely worth a watch though.

Apocalypse Now Redux (DVD). had only netflixed Apocalypse Now (shorter version) before this. Snagged a used DVD for $4 (including shipping) on ebay

Movie: 5/5 (Redux was insane! clocking in at 3 hrs, 22 min. I previously ranked Apoc. Now in my top 10, around 7-8, but I'd say its top 5 now. I only watched it once first time around, which really isn't enough to appreciate a film of this caliber. Duval was genius. Brando as always, but Sheen I was the most impressed with. THe narration was better than I remember. The boat voyage up the river is just movie making at its best. The use of the sun throughout the film during the day, and fires at night. Coppola continuously uses fade out shots with voice overs, to really convey the psychological themes

PLEASE PLEASE GET THIS BLU RELEASED SOON!!!

Just watched:
"Night at the Museum," which I've always found cute and funny. I used to think it was too child-like for me, but I've grown to enjoy it as an adult as well. 4/5

"Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian," first time ever, and I was expecting it to be really corny and bad. But I actually thought it was pretty good; there were many good jokes in it, and the film has the same adventurous flavor as the first one. A few silly parts perhaps, but I expected much worse. 3.5/5

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

A very strange film but it pulled together wonderfully. It was dark but funny at the same time. I really loved the imaginarium sequences. Although the CGI was admittedly simplistic, it was fitting for the fantasy realm. Great performances, especially by Heath Ledger and Colin Farrell. I don't think this movie is for everyone since it's received mixed reactions. But for me, it was certainly a real treat and very enjoyable throughout.

4/5

Harry Potter - Half Blood Prince

Film: 3.5/5 (parts 1 and 2 are still my favorite. i havent read the books but know that they get longer as the films go on, so it would seem to be harder to cram each book into a 2.5 hour film. overall, i could just tell there was gaps in the plot we werent getting here, and then my sister (who has read the book) informed me that the book is over 700 pages, compared to 300 pages for parts 1-2. perhaps they could have made the film longer? or do parts 1-2? just seems weird when the film for the 300 page book is same length as the 700 page book?)

Video: 4.5/5

Audio: 4/5 (1.5 mpbs most of the time. dialogue could have been clearer)

Cool

The Hangover - 9 out of 10:
Loved this movie, it was quite hilarious, and i'd highly recommend it to anyone who liked The wedding Crashers or Old School.

Rachel Getting Married - 2/10: This movie was incredibly boring in my opinion...it was so slow.

Obsessed - 5/10: The premise was alright, it just was a little to slow. Parts of it took forever to unfold. And it was to predictable in my opinion.

Crank 2 - I have seen Crank 1 several times and I love it. Crank 2 however, the first half hour is great like the first film then it just collapses under it's own excesses. It got boring, loud and incomprehensible. So sad since the first one was so very well done. Grade: D

Just watched Avatar 3D. First impressions (may change on second viewing):

Movie: 8 out of 10. Not very original, but exciting and entertaining.

Visuals were amazing and very psychedelic, which I like

I'm disappointed that we may not get to see it like that (in RealD) for quite a while. It will look great on blu-ray but I'll miss the 3D effect since I can't watch the current 3D technology.
