I was talking about the ones that he directed. So...it's still his second catalog release following CEOTTK... KOTCS is still regarded as a new release.

He directed one of the 4 stories in Twilight Zone: The Movie.

And some argues that he directed Poltergeist as well.

Steven was prdoucer and writer on Poltergesit -- he would suggest ideas on set, i.e. "Why don't we do this?" and Tobe would silently nod and not object, and he essentially allowed Spielberg to take over. Spielberg probably overstepped his bounds, but Hooper didn't take control of the set, and hence the controversey that has "haunted" Poltergeist since its release. There is a reason the film hasn't had a full-blown special edition...no one wants to talk about what went down.

He produced Twilight Zone and directed the "Kick the Can" sequence. He suggested staging and directing ideas on Poltergeist. If you count Poltergeist as a Spielberg film (some do), then Minority Report will be Spielberg's fifth film released on Blu-Ray.

I can understand a little why you might want to draw parallels, but they're more different than alike.

It's just that, everything I've seen of it just came across really similar.
And most that I have seen would have been trailers, previews and just bits from reviews and such.

I Robot: Main protagonist guy, in the future, futuristic cars, robots, all very clean-styled.
Minority Report: Main protagonist guy, reminded me of 'Mission Impossible', in the future,
cars driving up walls even, similar futuristic style.

That's pretty much all I could describe. XD

Don't be so quick to discredit the amazing work of one of the biggest director's of our time because you're pissed he won't release his movies on blu-ray.

You have no idea, bro. Spielberg's works are famous for being excellent but most of them are nowhere near my list of favorites. I'll probably end up buying most or all of them, but I'm not losing any sleep over most of them not being available.

BTW: Do you even know what the novel which 'Blade Runner' is based off of is really called?

I'm not stupid. Just because I haven't read the literature doesn't mean that I don't do my homework.

I also guess that you would discredit Richard Linklater for 'A Scanner Darkly' and Ridley Scott for 'Blade Runner'.

I don't think discredit is the right word. Just that the pictures with any director behind them probably would have been enjoyable for me.

And actually, the styles of those two films feel heavier in the director's style for me than the style that Spielberg is responsible for adding to Minority Report. I like the desaturated, dreamy look and grainy texture of Minority Report, but that's not what I'm referring to; as I said above, that is thanks to the DP's involvement rather than Spielberg's. What I'm talking about is immaterial. Also: I really like the rotoscope concept used for A Scanner Darkly.

Go and read the novels bud, it should be an educational experience for you.

Are you alluding to the fact that the films are often quite different than the original stories? I don't really care. It's the concepts that hold the weight more than the specific story details that might get tweaked in the film adaptation. And I like seeing these stories told in a visual medium... I can't imagine how We Can Remember it for you Wholesale stacks up against Total Recall.

And until you know the differences between each story and its cinematic counterpart, then you can do all the director bashing you want.

It's not bashing, it's just stating that any reasonably capable director is able to entertain me with an adaptation of this kind. Even a bad director is probably capable of giving me an adaptation of a Dick story that I'd enjoy.

Futuristic content-wise, they're not dissimilar, but the cinematic styling between the two are very different. Almost night and day different. That's what I was saying.
