Not too good...trying to quit smoking today and I'm having a rough time. Very edgy and short with everyone here at work. I'm 16 hours and counting!

How's your day going? Have you finished reading the LOTR trilogy....I would have loved doing that before watching each movie. Really gets you deep into the story!

I really like your set up. You did an impressive job with that room. I also love your speakers... why do I have a feeling that I wrote this already??? Maybe I always think it when I see your room.

Any chance of adding a beer tap to that beverage counter? I am thinking of installing a tap in the wall and having a fridge in the garage for 5 gal kegs. Hahaha that is so off topic.

Thanks Kali, your room is quite impressive. I love everything about it.

Actually I have thought about adding a beer tap. But then I thought, why do that when I can do this:

Beer fridge in the garage ...that's the next best thing to a Home Theatre.

Right on. The third is my fav. Just wait until you here the Oliphaunts slamming down hard on your SVS subs Fors. It's a delight! Or have you already skipped to this scene when you bought the set?

I'm sure you've been asked this more than once...but do you prefer the books over the movies?

Yes, the books contain sooo much more info and detail that is missing in the movie (and understandibly so) that there is a richness and depth to certain scenes that are missing. However, I haven't watched one second of it yet, but I know the PQ in ROTK is 5/5 along with the audio being 5/5...so I am looking forward to it!

Yeah I enjoyed the books as well. I think I read them twice now. The third movie is the best in PQ and AQ for sure.

Have you read the saga "Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin?

Not yet and I can't say I am too familar with that name either.

My next book is going to be "Unfinished Tales" which goes into further depth about certain characters and events from the beginning of Middle Earth to when Sauron was defeated. It seems to be a very good "next book" after reading the trilogy....I had already read The Silmarillion first back in March before I read the Lord of the Rings, so everything is still fresh in my mind right now.

The Silmarillion is a tough read. Wonder if they will ever make that into a movie.

Well when you're done with the LOTR world you should defiinitley check out George RR Martin's stuff. It's regarded as one of the best fantasy sagas ever and I tend to agree. I also believe they are considering making the saga into a movie.

Yes, The Silmarillion is one hec of a tough read. JRR Tolkien wrote that with never the intention of it being published. He son is the one who got it to publication.

Is his son still alive? I wonder if he had any say in the production of the movies? I don't usually watch the extra features on movies. Hmmmm....

18 hours and counting....

This is my current favorite fantasy series. Such an awesome vision with these. Fors, you should definitely check it out. I am also a huge Tolkien fan, so I just have a feeling you would enjoy the heck out of these . Good call Morrissey!

Also check out the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson.

I haven't read the Mistborn trilogy...but I will put that next on my list. Thanks Dase. You have great taste dase...George RR Martin, SVS and the Deftones...

Right now I'm reading The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. Very tough read. There are about 400 characters in the story and it is hard to keep track of them.

Yes, he lives in France now with his 2 sons and second wife I believe. He had a beef with New Line Cinema about royalties, but there was an agreement made between them in 2008. I think this may had been what was holding up the trilogy from coming out on blu.....

Haha awesome Morrissey. I too have recently began reading The Malazan Book of the Fallen series. I am on book 3, Memories of Ice. I agree it's very complex and one must certainly pay attention, but I do really like it. Anomander Rake is my favorite character so far . Gotta love good fantasy written on a grand scale, especially when it's done right.

You sir, have great taste as well . Are you enjoying your new amp?

Yes I read that the first two Malazan books are difficult to get through but after that everything falls into place and it is a bit easier on the brain to follow. Yeah Rake is a great character...the author really builds them all up very well.

LOVE the amp...at first I didn't notice a difference really. But after watching a few movies that I'm familiar with, I noticed the power pushing through my speakers. At times it gets too loud and I have to turn it down. No distortion though...nice and clean.

Have you thought about adding one?

Yeah I want to add one for sure, but I am going to add a new sectional first. I am going to order this weekend, then the saving funds begin for the amp . I can't yet decide on which direction to go with the amp though, but i'll have plenty of time to think it over. I would like an XPA-5 or 3, but I may just forgo those for now and do an XPA-2 first. Decisions... decisions...

It's good to hear so many great things on them from the many satisfied members here . Enjoy!
