Default Steelbooks and slipcovers

What is the big deal about them? I don't understand why people go bonkers once on of them is out? Please explain the novelty here because I am honestly dumbfounded.

I've been collecting Blu-rays for over two years now and your guess is as good as mine. I can understand steelbooks somewhat since they're sort of a stepped-up aftermarket deluxe edition, but I have no idea why people care so much about things like slipcovers, disc art, eco cases, etc. With some of these people it seems the quality of the movie itself is an afterthought.

Hey is some insight from a Steelbook Collector

I've been collecting Steelbooks for awhile now and i LOVE them. I have over 100 Blu-ray Steels and many more to come. I think they look alot cooler than just a plastic case. But i think of them as a collectible item. Not just a movie. Some people collect stamps, some people collect sports cards, some people collect comic books. Alot of us here collect Steelbooks. We love movies and it is a cool way to combine your love of movies with a hobby of collecting something. Atleast thats how some of us think. There are some people who get Steelbooks purely to hold onto them for awhile, let them gain value and then resell them to make some money.

It just depends on the person i guess. Hope i shed some light on the subject for you

Quick question about steelbooks. When you purchase steelbooks outside of the United States like from Europe and Canada, can you watch them normally in English just like a regular blu-ray movie?

Because we like the look of them, more or less.
