I, for one, have always loved the multi-faceted Danny Kaye. but in this film they did something with his voice because when he sings, it just doesn't sound like Kaye.

Fair enough, he was a talented guy, but I've never really been able to warm up to him for some reason. Granted, I've only seen him in a handful of things though.

Nineteen chapters,that's the UK release,it's Paramount also so I am assuimg it's the same as the US disc.

Thanks! My DVD is also 19 chapters, I was fearful they might have skimped on the chapters for Blu-ray (I swear it's happened on other titles, but don't ask me to name one!). This title is on my "upgrade when the price is right" list, just wanted to make sure I wasn't in for any unpleasant surprises.

Hopefully you luck out on that. This and It's A Wonderful Life are two titles that I never see lowered in price. They're always brought back out at Christmas and sold for a high price because they know "ordinary folks" will just buy them anyway.

What's that?about $13 compared to the near $23 .com are charging,I don't know what the shipping charge is to The States but that would still work out cheaper plus minus the VAT.

Is anyone else looking forward to the release of this holiday classic? Our family has made a tradition of watching it every year; lately we have been inviting friends over and having "White Christmas" parties. I hope it gets a worthy transfer!

Anyone know if this is a remaster. Or did they use the old one which I thought looked good.

I don't understand the reason why they don't include the original soundtrack from 1954. Almost all the mono tracks (starring Rosemary Clooney) are still available in the Paramount vaults (only "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing" and "Abraham" are the missing ones). There are also a few outtakes ("Santa Clause is Here" and an alternate finale).

It probably has to do with lingerings issues stemming from the different labels Clooney and Crosby were signed to at the time. They why Clooney didn't appear on the original soundtrack and Peggy Lee had to step in.

Has anybody actually gotten the reissue yet? Can anyone confirm that the audio is indeed lossless mono?

Did anyone see the new Diamond Edition at any retail store? I was at Walmart and they only had the DVD version.

Got my diamond edition from BB. Haven't had a chance to watch yet. Has a nice slip and comes with the bonus cd in a little sleeve.
