If your a 24 fan make sure you order the UK Blu-ray set for Season 8, having been on the IMDB 24 board this morning the US Blu-ray set is missing the 30 minute series retrospective and 35 minute comic-con panel features, the UK set has these features + a beautifully embossed slip cover which the US set also doesn't have.
The UK Season 7 Blu-ray set also contains extra features not included on the US Season 7 set including over 60 minutes worth of production segments and a 30 minute interview with the cast and crew. It also comes with an episode booklet not included on the US set and a slip-cover not included with the US set either. Moral of the story is if your a fan of 24 and want the Blu-ray sets, you should order both UK sets as they contain more in terms of special features and better packaging. And both UK sets are completely region free, unlike the US sets which usually have 1 or 2 discs region coded. Last edited by quiteapackage; 12-14-2010 at 02:50 PM. |

Not going to double-dip on season 7, and have a pretty good deal maybe today on season 8, so although the UK option is intriguing, probably just going with the US version.
Recently accumulated seasons 1-6 on dvd for about 20 bucks a pop, and am in the midst of getting 24: Redemption. Don't really need the special features that no doubt have been added to the complete DVD collection, and I want blu-ray anyway dammit. Even the DVDs will be a massive improvement over how I watched them originally (SVHS copies of full frame SD TV often with crappy sound and compressed all to hell; and pretty much always after the season was over, during the summer). So probably a double-dip someday if/when there's a complete 24 blu-ray boxset. (I really don't expect that to ever happen, but go ahead and surprise me Fox.) |

Oh, I do, and I expect they will put it in a special collectors box and add some of them "never before seen footage" and what not. I think you can look for it next year. I will be one of the first to buy it too. Fox might not be smart but they are not gonna miss out on what is to clearly be "money in the bank" for them. I'm willing to bet that if they could have gotten season 8 out of the door in the first half of the year that they would have gotten the collection out for the holiday shopper if it were possible. have faith, and remember, we know Jack! ![]() |

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xdf...=embed&start=0 If you want to see the 30 minute series retrospective and comic con panel feature you'll need to order either the complete set or the UK Season 8 Blu-ray which includes the Retrospective and Comic-con panel feature. The UK Season 7 and 8 sets seem to have so much more effort put into them, they both have slip-covers, episode booklets, extra features etc.. unlike the US releases which are sort of bare bone releases. |

Can anyone confirm the post-Season 8 "prequel"? I had heard about it being only on the Complete Series DVD & Season 8 Blu-ray.. but I got to Best Buy today and none of the packagings mention it, so I passed. Was it scrapped? If so, I might as well just get this one on DVD (to match Season 1-7).

Too pricey for me. But then again, I did manage to get a pretty good price on the US version. If Fox wants to do a complete blu-ray box set, I'll think about it. I got pretty lucky and paid only about 21 bucks for it (Target price match, Best Buy $5 reward zone certificate, and the mall where the Best Buy is I bought it from was handing out $20 gift cards). ![]() A bit concerned that Season 7 was on 6 discs but Season 8 has been jammed onto 4 discs. See how that works out... |

Yup, the price I paid for sticking with c-band/4dtv until this past summer, and with a dying 4dtv receiver to add a little unpredictability to the mix (it usually worked okay during the summer, but once it got cold out, it tended to stop working altogether late evenings and on into the middle of the next day, often as not; some days it wouldn't work at all (failing capacitors was most likely what was wrong with it, if it got too cold they couldn't charge up the lnb, or something like that), but usually could manage primetime okay if turned it on a few hours beforehand).
Now I only have to deal with directv's random dolby digital audio dropouts. So much better. ![]() |

Check around for it on ebay, sometimes American buyers buy the UK version and sell it their, but you are getting more in terms of features and packaging. I know a fan over on the IMDB board who was disappointed at not getting to see the series retrospective which is actually a great feature.
