Am up for another sequel, but wouldn't be disappointed if it don't happen. Saw kind of went down toward the end but most of these franchises do. You either love them or hate. I like them so am willing to take the bad with the good.

I can't believe it's already been 6 years since the final film. They should do a prequel set in the '70s where a young Jigsaw (late teens, early 20's) begins his killing and learns how to set up traps, and makes some mistakes along the way until he learns how to perfect them.

But he would be healthy then. Part of his motivation was the fact he was dying.

Would much rather see a new Final Destination flick than another Saw.

Can't wait. If it's Halloween it must be

To have Saw and Tyler Perry in the works again, it's nice to see Lionsgate reaching back to its roots.

Yup, but the good news feeling22 is if you want to see Jigsaw's origins and his first victim they already made that movie in Saw IV, one of my particular favorites.

If they have to continue with these I feel like they should stop with Jigsaw. Even though he died early on it all came back to him and it got really convoluted by the end. I'd rather have some unrelated killer who just happens to be inspired by his work now.

The fact that Wan is coming back to producer the film gives me hope the sequel will be more like the first and less like the sequels. There's hope for it now. Hopefully he gets to be a bit more involved than the last ones. I want a film more like the one that made me love the franchise compared to what it became.

Saw is Jigsaw, just like Friday the 13th is Jason. I don't want John to come back as Jigsaw of course, but Jigsaw himself is what this series is in my opinion. What about Dr. Gordon? After the end of the Final Chapter I'd love for him to be the permanent killer going forward.

It’s been several months since we last heard anything about Saw: Legacy, the 8th entry in the franchise that was created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell back in 2004. What we reported back then was that Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger – the same scriptwriting duo behind Piranha 3D, Piranha 3DD, and Sorority Row – were writing the script and that Wan and Whannell would be acting as executive producers. No plot was revealed and no other information was provided. It’s been completely quiet…

Today breaks the silence as it looks like the sequel will be filming in Toronto this September, according to a listing found on IATSE873, which is a site that supports a union of stage, theater and movie employees/operators.

Additionally, the listing states that Dan Heffner and Oren Koules will be producing the movie. The two have been producers on every Saw film, so it’s nice to see them come back! Alas, no director is listed but we’re looking into the situation to see what we can figure out!

While we reach out, where would you like to see the Saw series go next? Should it tackle Jigsaw’s beginnings? Should it move to a completely different town where some sociopath takes up the sick cause on his/her own? Personally, I’d love to see it done without a ton of gore and instead focusing more on the horror of the situation, like the first one did. Give me tension over intestines any day of the week!

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that the SAW franchise was gearing up for a grand return nearly six years after SAW: THE FINAL CHAPTER marked the end of the “torture porn” franchise. However, since then, all reports on the film, tentatively titled SAW: LEGACY about the flick have been vague at best, with rumors of a shoot date swirling around the internet. Now, not only can that shoot be confirmed, but the Ontario Media Development Corporation has revealed that PREDESTINATION filmmakers Michael & Peter Spierig will be behind the camera for the reboot!

While story and cast details have yet to be revealed, OMDC has confirmed that the Spierig Brothers will shoot the film from September 12th to October 21st in Toronto, ON, their second film with Lionsgate following 2010’s DAYBREAKERS. The greenlight for SAW: LEGACY is another suggestion that Lionsgate is looking to get back into the horror game big time, joining LEATHERFACE and THE WOODS in their upcoming slate, as well as their acquisition of ASH VS. EVIL DEAD home Starz and their recent partnership with Saban Films to release Rob Zombie’s 31.

I didn't care for Daybreakers but Predestination was terrific.

I didn't like Daybreakers and Predestination was a little underwhelming following the hype, but a Saw reboot is definetly beneath the guys.

A SAW sequel is pointless if Cary Elwes isn't coming back.

Ugh really? Cool for the people that want it though. I gave up on this series after the 5th. I had enough by that point.

SAW 7 was pretty awful. I assume this is already a reboot? I mean, Elwes isn't Jigsaw evil imo.
