£8.99

Nice. Mine's already shipped.

Still £14.99 at Amazon but they may drop the price if they notice (they usually do) or enough people click on the "tell us about a lower price?" @ http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003BNY6XK

Sorry to revive old thread everyone. Just had a question. Anyone know if Platoon is OoP? Thinking of ordering as its £6 @ Play at the moment and besides them Amazon seem to be only other place with it in stock.

Shops like Zavvi/Hut dont even have a listing for it.

True, like almost all of his. One I have seen since I was about 10/11 and not sure if I've ever seen released is Talk Radio.

Wonder if that'll ever be Blu release ?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but is there ANY chance of this still coming with a slip? I see Andy was unlucky with Play, but anyone spot any in a store recently?

Looking to go to HMV this week, hoping to pick up a few films like this (on a war film kick), do instore prices differ to those listed on their website?

100% it wont come with a slipcover now. ebay is your only choice or if your very lucky, your find one in a hmv somewhere. i managed to get a copy off ebay with one, they come and go so keep searching every so often

This thread's been dormant for a while, so pardon if I rouse it long enough to ask a question.

I have the UK steelbook release of Platoon, and have just watched it on my PC, since my BD player is burnt out and needs replacing. (Using PowerDVD 13, and 8 GB of RAM.) I noticed some odd variation in the brightness of the image, most noticeably during the village scene, starting around 45 minutes in. It's not a flicker, but every few seconds, the brightness of the image (most notably in the background) would shift quite visibly.

It's weird. It might be my graphics card, of course, but it's odd that a) I haven't seen this in other BDs played on this system (nor, for that matter, in the supplementary docos on the same disc), and b) if I back up and replay sections of that scene, the shifts in brightness happen at exactly the same moments, suggesting (I think) it's not just my graphics card throwing some kind of processor fit. I also monitored the bitrate, and there are no increases or spikes.

So, my question is: has anyone else noticed this happening with this release?

I hadn't actually watched it on my BD player, so I don't have that to compare this with. But it seems very odd. I'd be grateful for any comments or suggestions.

I just put mine on MacEach and watched it from the 45th minute for about another five but I don't see it.

Bugger. So I guess it's my system. Though I'm blowed if I can see what might be causing it.

But mate, i really appreciate your checking your disc out and posting back. Much obliged, VH!
