I think I may be the only guy in the world who hates this movie. But anything that gets people buying into the Blu ray format is a good thing in my books. I know from being on these forums for about four year that Scarface was one of the most requested movies out there. First Taxi Driver, Lord of the Rings EE Star Wars and now Scarface being announced this could be one of the best years for catalog films.

naw dude. i hate it as well.

having said that, i am going to buy this as i havnt watched since i was 16 so hopefully my tastes will have matured since then and i can appreciate it for the film it is, rather then then for the hype surrounding the whole 'tony montana badass' thing.

I just coyuldnt stand the fact that all nmy buddies were in love this movie, but thought that the godfather 2 was boring.

and to that guy who's saying that this is pacino's best...all the stuff your saying is actually like your trying to sound like a fool. i reaally hope your kidding.

So over the top = good?

Pacino was AMAZING in the Godfather films and the first two are among the finest American movies of all time. Scarface is an entertaining gangster flick...big difference.

I suggest you see Glengarry and Dog Day and judge for yourself...then again maybe not...we seem to have quite different taste in movies, at least when it comes to Pacino flicks.

I'm somewhat with you. I don't hate it, but i do think its highly overrated by some.

Another terrific catalog announcement! I don't really buy steelbooks because I don't feel like going out of my way to pay more for that type of packaging, but if all we get is a steelbook, I'm certainly not going to complain. What's with people's hate and misunderstanding of different packaging? And once again, as I pointed out in the Rocky Horror thread however long ago, the press release states that the packaging is limited edition. So if you really hate the collectible packaging that much for whatever reason, just be patient and try not to ruin everyone else's good fun. In the mean time...

The cigar box set Amazon.uk has up for preorder is only 44.99 in that weird British money...so say $70 maybe?

The $999 item is an actual custom cigar humidor and while a grand is pretty silly for a desktop humidor it's not unheard of for promotional/collectible/custom work.

Nice list...i like your top 10 too. We have pretty similar taste in movies.

I've always debated with myself if i prefered Godfather 1 or 2? I keep going back to how amazing DeNiro was in 2.

I really hope there is a non-steelbook release for those of us who don't want one.
