"the B/W "filter" seems to randomly change...it is subtle but again my eye picks this up." this transfer was starting off better then ok and I really had hopes, buy sadly the video went down a hill...I still don't get why the blu-ray.com reviewer didn't pick this up....I love this site but he was wrong with his 4.0 video score. |

I'm not excusing EB's crap quality at ALL, but a release like this, an obscure Jarmusch film, even one with Depp on the cover, isn't going to top sales charts. I give them a little props just for releasing it. I wish they could do a better job of it, though. I wouldn't mind seeing this again. |

https://forum.blu-ray.com/attachment...1&d=1313459755 do you see the pan&scan lines?...I do...I wouldn't buy this blu-ray if you own a projector or larger then 42'' tv...you'll really see problems from this botched transfer. |

As I feared...that's severely disappointing...I didn't think I still needed to check for this sort of thing anymore but I guess I'll need to be more careful. Thanks for the confirmation, very much appreciated.

Well i received my copy today, and the AQ suck big time, i think is the worst bd in terms of AQ of the ones i've had. The PQ is flat, it's DNRed, and low contrast.
Lets hope the australian one its a bit better Edit: Region A (locked) |

Dead Man definitely features a DTS-HD Master Audio track. Watched it and surprisingly full for a 2-channel audio track. I thought the dialogue was very crisp and the haunting musical score really is a bright spot in an uneven transfer.

Received this last week and starting watching it. It's a beautiful transfer. No complaints although I am watching it only on a 32" LED 720p tv, I am pretty sure it would hold up on 1080p. The contrast is nice with deep blacks and crisp detail. Enjoy.

Yeah, I thought the same. The PQ was also very satisfying. This IS a low budget film. Not sure what people are expecting. Obviously too much. This isnt Avatar people, quit *****ing. This film has never looked better.
