The trailer of Ghostrider 2 that was on the disc also looked great, for a conversion it looked top notch, with some nice CG pop-outs, I was pleasantly surprised by that.
That's slightly disappointing. I was looking forward to a lot of in your face moments. Oh well, I am still looking forward to this one.

Don't get too excited, my 3Musketeers didn't come with a slip and I think the Fright Night slips are gone as I've only seen non slips in store.

The 3d looks good. I am one of those who love pop out moments more than depth too. Here the movie looks good overall, not great, but the 3d was fun.
There are some things that pop out like the swords, and explosions.

Overall a fun movie (filmed in a town in german where we go often), and
the visuals are 8/10. Def better than average.

In the stores that I visit, the slips are in abundance ....

... could it be that Amazon are removing the slips to cut down on postage costs?

Contact Amazon and let them know there was supposed to be a slipcover that accompanied the blu ray case and it did not arrive. See what their response would be. I've contacted NBC store regarding Caroline 3D slipcover missing in mail and they did send out a slipcover to me. I am glad I did, because it is a very cool slipcover indeed. I am waiting for this one to arrive by end of next week and if I don't get a slipcover, I'm going to do a little griping myself, because from the photo on Amazon, there is a slipcover that comes with the movie. Try contacting Amy to see what they say. If they reply in saying, "Sorry, there are not slipcovers available", then reply and say that you're not satisfied with this purchase and that you're very disappointed. These are words that a very strong buzz words that Amy pays attention too. You'll be surprised as to what the response will be. But you have to be particular. Be sure you give them the order number when you send them an email. Otherwise, your email may bite the bit bucket. Let us know what happens.

I didn't get a slipcover when mine came, seems like it's luck of the draw sometimes with Amazon, but I'm not overly fussed about it.

I'm really tempted to blind buy this, but I'm just so scared it won't even be brainless fun.

I think there's two camps of this film, you'll either find it a fairly enjoyable light-hearted, very loose take on the Three Musketeers, or it'll be of no interest, a real hit or miss title as seems people fall in one of those two camps.

I must be honest, I'm ashamed to say it, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. It's 2 hours of ridiculous popcorn fun, and what the hell is wrong with that?

Nothing to be ashamed of, I quite liked it myself and I'm a bit of a Three Musketeer's fan who usually takes issue with loose interpretations of the book. But in this case I just thought, oh hell with it, there's flying gallions, it's in 3D, just relax and enjoy it for what it is. Course that's not to say it's anything brilliant, but given how many native 3D titles are about, it's perfectly passable entertainment.

How can the same reviewer give the 2D version of the film found on the 3D disc a lower video quality rating than the 2D only version. Aren't they the same disc?

I was pleasantly surprised with it. I really wasn't expecting much as it came and went so fast.

Because he sucks as a reviewer. No disrespect to this site, which I love, but anyone that says "proof positive" instead of "prove positive" shouldn't write reviews. I think to remain unbiased about the 3D format they need to rotate reviewers more often than they do.

The video score that got a 4.5/5 is for the 3D version--not the 2D version packaged with 3D. He said the 3D version was less vibrant than 2D.

I think the reviewer just shouldn't mention cross-talk, I watched this and spotted no instances at all. I'd disagree with him that the 2D version is preferable as well. Whilst I'd agree that the film isn't 'in your face' 3D it does have very nice depth. I tested this a number of times with the old on/off glasses trick, and you can see a nice amount of separation in some shots (like the zoom in on the palace on the when the airships arrive). I do take the point that they could have showed off with the 3D more at times.
